The emperor created 20 primarchs. He made alpharius. It says the two primarchs shared a single soul. Alpharius cloned himself to make omegon. Alpharius has the ability to place his soul into others boddies as long as they are similar to his. Because it was the same body he was able to control both at the same time hence alpharius/omegon. His ability allows him to place his soul into any body similar to his own. The Geneseed changes the Marines to be enough like alpharius to make this possible with any marine in the alpha legion. The Marines of the alpha legion all claim to be alpharius. They are not lying. The alpha legion is alpharius.

The XXth Legion is awesome in all time periods. The fluff in one Chaos Space Marine Codex says the Alpha Legion started a series of revolts that seperated an entire segmentum from direct Imperium control for CENTURIES!!! The can cause worlds to go to chaos with a single marine. The only chapter that approaches their awesomeness is the Imperial Fists. Where as the Alpha Legion will use deceit to let you defeat yourself, the Fists will take anything you can dish out and then they pumel you mercilessly.

I tend to think the original Alpharius is dead, and Omegon lives. The Alpharius that fights Dorn wields the Pale Spear, slaughters the Praetorian's Huscarls, and nearly finishes Dorn off himself; the Alpharius that battles Guilliman is tall, but slain by a single blow with no noticeable morale effect on the legion. Even considering the storied history of Mary Suifying(tm) the Ultramarines, it would be ridiculous if that "Alpharius" was truly a primarch. Where is he now? I kind of hope we never find out. The Alpha legion is one of the most interesting chaos forces to me because of that intrigue and mystery. Either way, top quality video, keep up the great crus-...work!

There is a possibility you have not considered, in The Serpent Beneath and Praetorian of Dorn we saw that the blood of Alpharius had potent abilities when ingested by warriors of the 20th Legion. It would be simple to create a system where the finest warriors of the Alpha Legion would have access to a limited supply of the blood. This in turn would allow them to experience the memories and for a time enhanced abilities of the Primarchs, though naturally when facing off against another primarch such enhancements would be virtually worthless. Then we can also take into account the fact that the Alpha Legion would genetically and cybernetically augment its warriors to achieve their objectives. Again using a combination of technological enhancements and primarch blood would be enough to generate a warrior that could at least face Guilliman long enough to allow the true Omegon to escape.

Personally I'm gonna go with the entire alpha legion is Alpharius, litterally every marine in the legion is one and the same, we know in 40k that souls and blood are connected as the shedding of blood feeds the gods as long as the dish was served in the way the god likes, gushing from an head wound for khorn, dripping from a thousand painful cuts for slaanesh, boiled out by magic for tzeench and turned to puss for nurgle for example. So perhaps by blood rituals and the nature of the legion and there primarchs, maybe they litterally are all one and the same and Alpharius is whoever he needs to be when he needs to be. I think omegon was actually just a split personality, the war monger in a way and that when dorn smashed him he severed the hate from the chapter and only left the loyal Alpharius, in his wake who in my opinion understands actual brotherhood on a level the other primarchs don't and so wants to save his brothers who can be saved. He will use the aid of those who can't to achieve this. Alpharius is like the ultimate rogue trader amongst every race and genuinely just wants what is best for mankind and that is to destroy the weak, use allies where they may (even xenos) and to remove through their own devices those that are no longer in flesh or soul his brothers. The demon primarchs? Just my thoughts on the character, I think he will be leading the kabal in a way, an actual voice with actual worth in it, using this he could find all the lost primarchs, he met the deciever most likely, I reckon he'd want to have a look through trazyns collection too for any potential brothers, as well as amongst the dark eldar to find the khan if he can aswell. Just my thoughts on the matter, it could always be that even all that is a ruse though. I haven't read legion in some time, I can't remember which of omegon and Alpharius was the most receptive to the kabals plan.

I thought that, in order to make his way onto Terra, Alpharius used some Cabal tech to switch bodies with the Harrowmaster. The Harrowmaster then takes control of the fleet waiting at the edges in the stead of Alpharius. If that is true, then it would explain how Alpharius dies to Dorn in actuality, and perhaps the marine inhabiting his body/armor dies to Roboute later on, leaving Omegon as being possibly alive.

The problem with any theory like that is that while Alpharius and Omegon are superficially indistinguishable from any other Alpha Legionnaire, a primarch is significantly different internally from a standard Astartes. A simple autopsy probably confirmed Alpharius' death.

legionaireb The problem with that is that in this theory, Alpharius switched bodies with the harrowmaster. So the harrowmaster's body was the one that had fallen to Dorn. The one that fell to dorn was confirmed to be a primarch. Yet in this theory the fallen body wasn't that of a primarch. So the problem isn't confirming that it IS Alpharius, but that they would confirm it is NOT Alpharius.

I have a theory about alpharius and omegon. Basically coming from the nature of their names and the nature of the mythical Hydra itself. Alpharius being alpha meaning 1st and omegon being Omega meaning last. What I think or theorize at least in my imagination and table top fluff... Is that alpharius was the 1st of their kind and omegon will be the last of their kind. I would propose that like the Hydra... When you cut off it's head, two more take it's place. This is where I think the truth and secret of alpharius lies. I believe alpharius is forever tied to another person. If alpharius dies omegon senses this and omegon becomes alpahrius... But the clincher is that someone else becomes omegon. This is why I think it had to be kept a secret that alpharius had a twin and only the emperor and the sigilite knew about it. Because alpharius knew that so long as no one knows about omegon, his whereabouts, and their connection, no one would ever be able to kill alpharius truly. Everytime he may be killed his essence, soul, and mind would be transported to the body of omegon and the essence of omegon transported into another. This was alpharius unique gift above all the Primarchs. But if you were to kill omegon 1st and then alpharius, this was the only true way to kill alpharius all together. I also would like to theorize that unlike all the other Primarchs... Alpharius may be the only Primarch that can produce duplicates of himself or simply duplicate himself. Before the Primarchs were spread throughout the Galaxy... Alpharius may have duplicated himself in gestation. A back up clone if you will. Alpharius always keeps his back up body somewhere secret and safe, in case something happens to him so that in case he dies he has a body to go to. And then another omegon body or person is chosen to be his twin. I also go back to the idea of the Hydra with 3 heads. Alpharius and omegon were twins but the Hydra has 3 heads. Omegon was the wand head in secret, could there be a 3rd head that is even more of a secret. Is alpharius the 1st head that if he dies he transfers to omegon's body as a back up, and when that takes place omegon's essence is transferred into the 3rd unnamed person. And then a new 3rd unnamed person is chosen. Thus making it that you would have to kill every single alpha legion member in one fell swoop to make sure you kill the Primarch for sure. The alpha legion may in fact be full of alpharius duplicates waiting to be chosen as omegon one day. The only other reason I think that alpharius may transfer bodies upon death is because omegon originally wasn't sure about following Horus but alpharius was. As soon as alpharius dies omegon "senses" it, but now omegon feels the same way as alpharius feels all of a sudden about horus. It's possible but it sounds more like alpharius took over omegons body and continues to body jump each time he dies. I mean after alpharius dies... Omegon personality and actions seem to change from being a recluse and he starts to behave and do the same things and tactics as alpharius. Alpharius engaged in single combat with rogal dorn and died. Then omegon does the same thing with Guilliman. That sounds like an alpharius thing to do, not a person used to working from the shadows. I don't know... But that's just my fun light hearted theory.

In the book "Legion" there is a member of the alpha legion described as being exceptionally tall and had the twins blood transfused into his body so he could pass as the primarch on a genetic level. I can't remember his name, but I think either Gulliman or Dorn killed that marine and one of the twins is still alive.

I think the height of "Alpharius" mentioned at the end of the video is possibly an oversight on the part of the writer where that particular evidence is from. Regardless, it's a very interesting video.

I remember reading about the conflict on Escrador in an old Index Astartes article way back. If I remember correctly, the article ended by noting that the information itself was suspect given that the Inquisitor that reported finding the ancient record of the incident was subsequently revealed as being an Alpha Legion spy. Now that Guilliman has returned, I suppose someone could just ask him what he recalls of the incident.

I have another theory. Omegon is either of the lost Primarchs. He was with his own legion and a twin of Alpharius. The legions had to be merged then, with the defeated Omegon remaining only known to a chosen few, I.e. effectively being lost, an example to the other brothers. But the emperor was unable to kill his son, and a twin, without risking the other rising against him too.

Omegon is alive. There's no way Guilliman would be able to one-shot him. Alpharius gave Dorn a decent fight while Dorn was learning his fighting style, so I'd have to guess that he's still out there somewhere making problems for the galaxy.

In the lore, Alpharius put his mind into a different guy, and the guy's mind into his body. So Alpharius's body died. But his mind lived on. In warhammer, due to science magic, this means Alpharius will turn his new body into the old one. Omegon still lives, officially. But given how many times they have killed Alpharius, I'm going to say they are both alive.

Since it's said that Guillaman killed Omegon with one blow it's fairly obvious that he fought a large battle brother posing as "Alpharius". If it had been an actual fight I might believe he died but one blow? No. Even the weakest of the Primarchs would last longer than that.

Apparently, Omegon was quite honorable. He was very against civilian deaths and even clashed with his own brother about it. Maybe he saw he had been duped and what his legion had become? Maybe he tried to stop his brother during the heresy and failed and decided to leave in guilt?

I firmly believe Omegon is alive and is leading a loyalist warband somewhere within the dark imperium. Omegon and Alpharius both have the ability to boost the power of and individual and create something like a Demi primarch. So when “Omegon” fought against Gulliman and lost it was in fact just a Demi primarch that Omegon created to lead his forces while he was away. I believe this because gulliman won and in a primarch on primarch duel he will always lose. he’s a glorified secretary not a warrior.

I still believe none of them is dead. Even someone as awesome as Dorn would face little luck killing someone who most likely wouldn't be there. Then theres is also the fact that the twin primarchs had an unusual relationship with their legion, you know switching place and everything. I just don't believe that someone who goes to great length making sure nobody can recognise him, would be killed, much less in honest combat

I like to imagine that Omegon is indeed alive, but after the death of his brother, the soul of Alpharius returned to Omegon and he now has a split personality where he is both Alpharius and Omegon. Or I do believe there could be a third brother. The hydra has three heads after all.

I really believe that it wasn't the ruinous powers that scattered the Primarchs, but the Emperor himself. It would have been an interesting experiment to see how they'd develop, some bad, some good.

-Dorn fights Alpharius and almost dies in an epic duel where he was only able to win by allowing himself to be pierced through one of his hearts by Alpharius's spear. -Guilliman fights "Alpharius" and defeats him in a single blow, easy peasy not even breaking a sweat. Fucking mary sue.

Reading "the Praetorian of Dorn" I believe alpharius was the marine leading the ship invasion, it takes pains to point out how important this one marine is. That is alpharius but mind swapped with one of his elite warriors, his blood when reintroduced to the right body, will awaken alpharius again.

Neither is dead. This is why the Alpha Legion's behavior is so conflicted, contradictory and yet effective. By being the same height as their huge regular marines, all of whom have been face lifted to make it appear as though anyone of them COULD be one or the other. The idea that BOTH leaders would risk extermination and the loss of the galaxy due to reasons of 'honor' is absurd. Why do I believe at least one of them still lives. Because if not, without the genius of their strategic focused Primarchs the other Alpha Marines would indeed rot away like the others, either as stupid loyalists or rotting mad Chaos ones. They are galactic level thinkers. Only Gulliman or the dead Emperor compare!

I mean, Omegon could be still alive. It’s recorded that Alpha legionnaires strived to fashion their appearance to look like their Primarch(s), and given the height variable (Primarchs and Astartes being similar heights in this case), as well as the Alpha Legion’s nature, it’s not much of a stretch to think that all the times Omegon died was just a ruse. The Alpha Legion is so hard to really pinpoint, though, because of how secretive and down right mysterious they are.
