The Fate of Yuma Kuga

With a mix of theories and taking into account a lot of what the series has established, today we talk about the fate of yuma. His fate is a matter of rolling the dice, but lets talk about what direction that dice may roll. I had fun making this and trust me, we will look back on this someday. Thank you for watching!

I had a thought - that Chika's side effect isn't so much "radar," but, "Navigator." Meaning that she isn't sensing Trion at a distance so much as sensing distortions in space, that is, in the boundary between this world and the neighborhood. She didn't pick up Miwa's approach when they came for Kuga, and while she did sense Viza and Hyuse coming, not only were they freshly arrived, but they were carrying distortions from the warp trigger. If he ability IS Navigator, not only will its function change drastically as soon as they launch the ship, but it might be key to saving Kuga. Right now, his body is being kept in essentially suspended animation, but it is also inaccessible as a result. The biggest obstacle yo saving Kuga is that he probably dies in seconds if this Black Trigger is undone... But if he could be provided care while he is suspended, he might be saved. If Chika can use her ability to access the tiny dimension his body is stored in... They might have a shot at fixing him. Its also possible that the damage to Kuga might be strange, because it was inflicted by a Black Trigger. His injuries almost look like parts of him were distorted out into space - like an offensive version of the ability that keeps bodies safe in the first place. If that is the case, he might have a better shot if they can find and understand the trigger that hurt him to begin with.

This is actually a really interesting theory. I haven’t heard anybody mention Chika’s ability in years. I’m gonna think on think some more :)

@@YozakuraSensei I just think we have been sleeping on Chika's side effect too long. She has the most Trion we have seen, and it kept thinking her side effect would be stupidly OP for a sniper with a beam cannon. If it was the ability to sense Trion accurately at a distance. But during rank wars it has never come up. Its not Trion, generally. Its possibly non-native Trion, but it really seems to be spacial distortions. If so, it sees a huge boost during the away mission. Otherwise, it seems crazy to me that she has the weakest side effect we have seen with such high Trion volume. Also neat aside. Chika has actually been training her Trion capacity like mad ever since her friend got caught. She describes herself as going into abandoned places and emptying herself - literally exhausting her whole supply of Trion, over and over, whenever there was an incursion nearby (ch 12). We know that using Tryon can strengthen Trion capacity - but lots of people probably miss that she has been exhausting her Trion supply regularly well before she got a trigger. Without a Trion body. I think its way more likely her side effect is misunderstood than weak.

A misunderstood side effect definitely sounds like something up Ashihara’s alley in the long run for sure. Wouldn’t be surprised if this does eventually come up again at some point

Kuga dying is an option, I pray against... Ashihara sama please don't let it come to pass. Although if it happens I foresee an amazing arc whereby the different factions in border fights for his black trigger

I think the word "legacy" would be the key in case of Kuga's death. If he does leave, what impact will it have on Tamakoma, all the agents at HQ (Midorikawa, Yoneya, Kageura and rest) and most importantly Osamu. Seeing that aspect of the story would be heartbreaking, but at the same time show hope for the future of Border... I think. While I do want Kuga to be saved, after all who knows what's out there in the neighbourhood, him dying at the end would also have a sort of fulfilment to it... Well, whatever Ashihara shows us, I'll agree to it... But I wouldn't mind everyone at Border uniting for one goal.

Hopefully kuga survives. I can’t remember how fujin was created but could kuga end up laying down his life leading to the creation of a new black trigger? If kuga is ends up dying I could see katori or midorikawa being recruited by mikomu.
