At the same time, there is something more. I don't know, I think that it could be a crime story, maybe the daughter is trying to make him fool. However, that's impossible to understand by the trailer, it's only a sixth sense

I wonder what Sir Toni would say??!! Just go with it; it is what it is. Don't over analyze the magic of life. But l like to go deeper. It's a fascinating issue and top; cruel and relentless to family members and loved ones; it's like the person's gone off and playing another role!! Everyone has to learn or try to deal with the eroding of ego personality and human identity in relation to linear time and it's reality. Has the consciousness moved more into or out of the dream state of their reality??!! Has consciousness removed itself from localised reality? I guess it's a different level of soul expression. One must feel more hopeless and helpless? I wonder how Toni felt in playing this part??!!! Anger, confusion, betrayal of life in general. Such a powerful moment of creation. This is going to be an epic powerful movie of emotional proportions. Confronting for many touched with such heartache and hopelessness. Thanku to all the actors and first time director of this one. Outstanding.

*My theory: the daughter is messing with her father, replacing herself with a younger version at certain times. Bringing people in that he's never met but she insists he knows them. She could be telling him one thing then denying it the next day and in front of others, i.e. the doctor. If she repeats this enough times and gets those around her to do the same, she could convince him he's going mental. Laura, an outside perspective will either serve to assure him he's not going crazy and thwarts the daughter's plans, is hired by the daughter to make him believe he is crazy, OR - and this would be a good twist - at first pretends to be on his side, knowing very well he's of sound mind, but at the end double crosses him and sides with the daugher, her employer.* *Can't wait to see this and find out if any of my theories are correct!*

Sorry to ask; is this normal then. My dad was diagnosed about 4 or 5 years ago. He's started saying we ignore him or treat him like a child. It's never at a time when anyone is being high handed, there are instances where we just have to be. Is it a phase of dementia? I'm not sure where to ask questions, there are soo many charities and little organisations. I don't think I'm doing enough. I know I'm not.
@sylviaallen270
@sylviaallen270 4 жыл бұрын
@@DeborahWalkerXOXO yes, it is a normal phase of dementia. Everyone I've known who had dementia went through this. It often turns into a hostile paranoia as time passes. That's a phase too--eventually they get past the paranoia stage but it can get pretty brutal while it's going on. Caring for someone with dementia is not easy! It is best not to ever argue with the person about what's real. Not defend yourself from their accusations, not tell them that isn't true, that isn't what's happening. Because it's not about you at all. There is an emotional truth in the crazy version of reality they're perceiving. Open ears and heart, and listen listen listen. Try to hear the emotional truth they're expressing in the craziness, and speak to that. It's an opportunity to be the adult in the room, to be generous and kind to someone who is lost and scared.
@DeborahWalkerXOXO
@DeborahWalkerXOXO 4 жыл бұрын
@@sylviaallen270 thank you for this, there have been blessings with his dementia but also frustrations. Our relationship has always been strained - since I became a tween really - sometimes it feels like a blessing. He's much more caring, kind, helpful, less critical, more peaceful. But I don't live with him so I don't really see the nasty side of the disease often. I knew it was affecting him when he stopped criticising me. Then he started to trust my judgement! Well. Not the dad I know. There have been blessings. The accusations are difficult though, that's started.

@@DeborahWalkerXOXO Big hugs to you. it is a difficult time. STay strong. My mom is now 73 and lives in a home . She is almost completely gone, she smiles once in a while, but she can't speak anymore and otherwise sleep. All through my 20's I've missed her good advice and felt very alone. I have learned to lie with it now over the course of time, but I still get moments, when I cry of sorrow - that she is there, but she is not. and

@@vanefreja86 I'm soo sorry this was your experience, she developed it very young. Thank you for your advice also, I've been thankful for the time I have with my parents, now that he has this disease my dad is soo much easier to be around. I don't look forward to the time when he doesn't know us. At least your mum is past the distress.

Why is it that so many trailers don"t say when or on what platform their movies will be released?

People who are taking care of a confused parent can really go through the ringer. But you know what? They can also be guilty of huge amounts of fraud and pilfering of their assets. Seen this first hand. If this character played by Hopkins is wealthy, dealing with dementia AND is being the victim of financial abuse, well that's going to be an interesting story line. One that's incredibly common.

It looks so heartbreaking and too close to home, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it

I have no idea what’s going on from trailer, makes me think that this is deliberate so we feel a bit like we have dementia. Smart.
