I'm so curious about how he came up with/envisioned his character. He definitely put quite a bit of thought into it, but I wonder how much of it was off the top of his head. His character had A LOT of depth for being someone that just appeared in the story and only had a short bit of dialogue. The imp companion, the trapped house, the mention of Craghammer, the connection to Ioun, his past as an adventurer, his quirky behavior, and his wisdom...it was a lot.

It was a moment created by her, and it was him talking to her because of what she said. 34:00 I feel that Travis touched on a pretty relatable subject of lategame instant travelling negatively affecting DnD campaign's flow. It's no longer travelling, it's hopping between important instances to check all of the boxes before inevitably fighting the final boss.
@epicglitter72185 жыл бұрын
It's a fair point (though personally I don't enjoy seeing Travis visibly bored or whining , but that's a separate issue / pet peeve). Matt mentioned on Talks that in his experience, campaigns rarely, if ever, get to this high level - so maybe it's an issue he didn't anticipate? In Campaign 2 (no meaningful spoilers) he seems to have adjusted by (1) no PCs have this level of fast travel - they can just use teleportion circles in specific cities (2) NPCs can fast travel, but the party needs to earn their favor and often they only know the general region they're going to - once there, they still have a bit of travel & problem-solving to find the the person/object/location they seek. At one point I thought he might also implement "if you use magical means to travel, the bad guys will find you and catch you off-guard" but I think I was wrong on that. Either way, seems to have learned from C1 experience

I absolutely loved Percy's reaction to seeing Ioun's library. Not even the childish glee (which was fun), but the existential realization that accompanied it. I wasn't feeling Vex's oath to Pelor and I was planning on being even more cynical about Percy suddenly warming up to Ioun, but Taliesin played it perfectly. His talk of Whitestone giving him immortality remains my favorite moment from any episode of this show. As a history nerd, I empathize with it. For all of Alexander the Great's accomplishments, he would be a half-remembered myth were it not for Callisthenes. Ioun removes that burden from mortals. Percy doesn't need to be remembered by Whitestone because he'll be remembered by Ioun. If everything is recorded, and everything is remembered, then everybody is immortal. Whatever his opinion of the gods before now is irrelevant because the idea that Vecna could destroy this is literal blasphemy. Percival is on the road to Damascus!

Holy crap. The way that Liam/Vax just stared at Laura/Vex after "the announcement" broke my heart. You could see the conflict between being happy and sad in his eyes. How he's happy for his sister who he loves dearly, but at the same time, sad that she didn't tell him and that he'll never have that thing she has. I love Vax. He's been my favourite character throughout this entire campaign. Despite his mistakes; he's always stayed true to himself. His love for Vex and Keyleth is so strong. And as his time draws closers, I am dreading the conversations he's going to have to make.
@Aetheria603 жыл бұрын
It's both heartbreaking and infuriating to me. Vex makes him promise not to run off and get married without her there, thus denying him his only chance, then goes off and does exactly what she begged him not to do. I like Vex, but boy did I want to slap her back when this all went down - and I still get annoyed on Vax's behalf to this day. lol
@abrilvonbunny62053 жыл бұрын
@@Aetheria60 well, its not like they didnt see eachother every other week that whole year of peace... they ran the bakery, they set up the crisis orbs.. if they wanted to get married, they were a transport via plants away... same with the kids, if Vax knew he had little time to live and wanted that, do it man... Besides, Liam sprung everything onto Marisha everytime he wanted to make the relationship happen when neither Marisha/Keyleth showed signs of wanting it From the beggining. THE FACE Marisha and Matt made when Vax brought up getting married and like, they are engaged and planning a wedding IRL and Marisha was clearly put off. Thats something I like a lot from Perc'halia, Laura and Taliesin seem to have discussed and agreed most things happening beforehand, which makes everyone at the table and outside feel more confortable, something that never happens with Vaxleth... (Sorry for bringing the comment back, this is just me processing the feels from a recorded game from years ago (?but felt like commenting)

@@Aetheria60 they had a YEAR, vex said that when they were fighting for their lives against the conclave, they had a year of free time after where they could have gotten married just fine so no legitimate reasons to be angry "because they couldnt have that" because they totally could have, plus keyleth was totally metagaming there. Percy said they were just betrothed to be married(ie engaged) and scanlan just played the here comes the bride because of it. I think he just meant being a gnome in general. That being said Sprigg's speech resonates with Keyleth way more. One of her greatest fears is that she'll outlive everyone thanks to Timeless Body. Something that is slowly becoming true with Vax now on borrowed time.
