I started my VA journey in 2021 and was very off and on about it and taking a few classes and workshops. This year 2024 I'm pushing to make it work. I think it's great you are documenting your journey and offering solid advice. I agreed it can be scary starting something, and the unknown of what will happen, but at the same time it can be exciting and I got nothing to lose. Excited to follow along!

Hey Robert, I empathize with your struggle and trepidation on starting a new career at 50. I currently work in IT and am gainfully employed, so I don't have that particular stress hanging over my head, and I do have an incredible wife who is a great support system for me (as your fiancée is to you). I turned 51 back in August and have been interested in voice over work for quite some time, so I started my own channel (hence my KZbin avatar) that combined my passion for comics and voice over. It affords me the opportunity to practice my craft and hopefully will allow me to transition out of corporate America and into a career I truly love. I wish you tremendous luck and I can't wait to see good things come your way down this path!

Thanks for the comment. It’s definitely been a challenge and continues to be as I still haven’t found steady work. But it can be done and I’m not giving up. Your page is fantastic and I love that intro you have. Looking forward to bingeing some of the content you have. Best of luck to you!
