He's well and truly obliterated all of the good work Crass did! The venue? Ticket prices? and probably the price of the merchandise too! I used to think that Crass were the only band that came out of "punk" with their integrity and high standards intact - now I think differently! Rimbaud should have stuck by his gut reaction and withheld his blessing for this money making monstrosity! After this $hit show,I bitterly regret buying all of their records and going to see them twice - I really do! I feel like they conned me from day one!

I had him climbing all over my back to get his silver chain back at Ferryhill 101 Club on 30th April 1982! Some of us remember when Crass were "above criticism" and didn't provide their critics with any ammunition to fire back at them, unless they deliberately wanted to provoke and get a reaction! This "spectacle" makes me feel sick to the pits of my stomach -. makes me feel like Crass conned me from day one! Who transforms from a diehard anarchist to a capitalist?!! We all change over time, but deary me,not this much! Rimbaud and Libertine are just as complicit! It's a perfect example of "How to undo/detonate all the good you did,in one night"!!

@@stevepearn930 Man, I wasn't even born til 82, so I felt lucky to see this show when I did. Sellouts or not! I conned my way backstage to interview Flux of Pink Indians and had the time of my life! The truth is we all grow old and change our beliefs at some point and times have definitely changed. The bands have changed, but their words ring true to this day. Even Zack DeLaRocha from Rage Against the Machine sits front row at Lakers games now. All we can do now is try not to pass too much judgement upon eachother and teach our children the lessons learned from the songs we sing.

As someone who bought all of the Crass records and saw them twice - even wrote to them twice, I have a few important questions? Considering the venue and the price of tickets, what was the point in Crass playing places nobody else played? What was the point of them charging £1 to get in? and what was the point in charging low prices for their records? Ignorant has dumped all over the Crass legacy!

The world has moved on since you saw CRASS in the early 80’s! Even if they played some grotty little ‘punk’ venue through a shitty PA system you’d still moan about it! Steve ignorant has paid his dues on the DIY punk circuit with CRASS, current93, conflict, Schwartzenegger and Stratford mercenaries….. as a long time CRASS fan myself, I see no problem in him playing a good venue….. I see no problems him earning out of it (even though I’m sure he donated quite a bit of the profits to charity, as usual)….. I don’t see he’s sold out, he’s been consistent in delivering his message for years now….. I seriously doubt that you’re living like the (in)famous crusty Swampy yourself these days….. be sure that when you point the finger at someone, you’ve 3 pointing back at yourself (your thumb can’t point backwards)

You also have to remember some were liars all along. Some were hypocrites all along. Some never had any real principles or had any concept of what having principles means. Some just made false promises. And some have really brown noses/tongues.
