Deal and also ALLISON RASKIN OMG You got a job writing a feature because YOU DESERVE IT because you buyilt an amazing resume of self-starting projects that were incredibly successful and showed a honed ability to communicate your brand as a sincere and accessible mentally ill, capable, recovering, insiteful, hilarious GAL PAL that every girl who saw you on the internet wanted to have. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO LOOK AT YOU AND SEE YOU AND ALL YOUVE DONE AS A DESIRAB;E ASSET. You have the career that I (a woman your exact age) am STILL DREAMING OF HAVING. You got where you are because you have great ideas and you realized them yourself. its NOON and I;m STONED and you are UNDERRATED and CAREER GOALS and I PAUSED THE VIDEO TO COME DOWN AND WRITE THIS. I'm 24 and still can't shake this feeling that I'm behind and not doing enough and that I don't have enough time. Thanks for sharing your experiences that you struggled at my age as well. I'm finally starting school next year after spending the past 6 years figuring out who I am, and really nervous about starting a bachelor's so late, and just sooo ready to be done with it ASAP. Especially because the field I've decided on, everything needs a bachelor's, and it's hard to not beat myself up for not getting a bachelor's degree beforehand. But this is really the best time in my life to get a degree, and I'm glad I didn't spend those years in college. My emotions are a constant dichotomy.
@kohlinoor6 жыл бұрын
I feel you!! I'm currently applying to start a second bachelor's (after a false start in between). If everything works out, I'll be a freshman again at the age of 26. Not everyone can live life following the same timeline! It's normal. I still feel like you quite a bit, though. I'm also incredibly proud of how much growth I've made in the past decade because I'd still be floundering and unaware of how unhappy/unfulfilled I was without it.
@Floralvege6 жыл бұрын
Victoria Morgan you've got this! I did my degree straight out of school & whilst it was undoubtedly a good time for me to move away from home and meet new people, I didn't at all have the focus and the knowledge of myself to be able to do a degree without struggling massively, which I did. I'm your age now and can see myself approaching things completely differently and enjoying it a whole lot more! Sounds like you've been super wise! And on the age note, I had a number of course mates that were our age and older, one in her 50s and certainly on my course no one batted an eyelid and if anything we just really appreciated their slightly calmer, more self assured presence and loved making friends outside of our small bracket of age. Best wishes to you!! Sounds so exciting.
@allisondoak94256 жыл бұрын
I rushed into study at 18 when you’re *supposed too* and I wasn’t ready yet and ended up dropping out. I started again last year at 23 and it was soooo much better, life experience really adds value. I’m taking this next semester off to make some career and life changes but that feels great. Growing up is not a straight line and there is no rush what is important is that we are doing things that make things better for ourselves to and the people we care about. Be prepared to giggle to yourself about how sweet the young ones are though.

Wow, its kinda crazy watching how this show has changed over the past couple years, how you re ok with talking about your growth and how you’ve changed. There are a lot of people on this platform who still sort of maintain this “I’m a mess” persona in order to try to seem relatable and don’t talk about being proud of their success. I’ve got an idea for your resolution. It’s something I’ve been doing for years. So I have this jar at home that I put good things into. Whenever I’ve had a great day or have accomplished something I write down what happened and put it in my jar. I throw in everything from concert tickets to receipts from good restaurants. On New Year’s Eve I open the jar and read its contents to revisit all the wonderful things that have happened that year. I find writing things down for the jar to be helpful in making you present and appreciative while things are happening. I also find it super reflective to look over the jar. You see how you’ve grown, how relationships have changed, and you remember little things you may have forgotten made you happy. I encourage everyone to do it. I’m always glad I did.

When they first leave you alone after you've had a baby, the intense "sole-charge-of-keeping-it-alive" hits you like a train... the terror and imposter syndrome is real. Also - I have gotten so good at happy in the mundane moments since my clinical depression and anxiety hit when I was 20. I spent two hours getting home from a Taylor Swift concert on various buses in the rain with a broken foot last year, and because I wasn't depressed (and my daughters were sleeping at home) and I was with a friend I was having an AMAZING time. Also, first TS concert made my life.
