Stefan gave Elena the necklace to keep Damon out of her mind but instead it led him into her heart bc the necklace scene from s3 is when she realized she loved him. I absolutely love that the scene where Elena knew she loved Damon was something which could have seemed like a small moment but actually held a lot of significance for her 🥺 Also the fact that Damon was thinking of Elena and holding the necklace while in a whole other place which he considers his own ‘personal hell’, it’s like thinking of her is his comfort. They’re so connected they’re even both thinking of the necklace at the same time. I love them so much, soulmates 🤍 The necklace is definitely symbolic for them when you also consider the fact that when Damon returned it in s2, it was the first time he said he loved Elena and couldn’t be selfish with her/made her forget. This episode was heartbreaking and gave me all the feels 😭

I absolutely enjoy and love Bamon as well, best thing about them being wherever they are. The scene when Elena tells Alaric about the necklace and Damon looking at the necklace, plus that song is so heartbreaking and beautiful. Also seeing in Ric's face how it does hurt him too that Elena only sees Damon (his best friend) as a monster now...

Elena does not like to disappoint those who love the people around her, she prefers to hide what she wants and feels so as not to hurt the people next to her even if in the end that's what she does. She always loved Damon and was drawn to him from the first moment she saw him having had her memory wiped out by Damon she forgot her attraction to him you can by now she had known and became Stefan's girlfriend and as a good girl she tried to put everything about Damon starts by clinging to the wrong and bad things that Damon did but in the end what he felt for him prevailed because between Damon and Elena beyond the stormy relationship is true love.

On the note of Stefan, the one thing we do see Stefan doing what again, he falls back into character of pretending to be human, getting another woman under his spell, lying to her and keeping secrets. Pretending to be something he isn't so he can feel and pretend and not deal with reality, just like we see at the start of the show.

Caroline crying always makes me crying :( And Enzo, he is great friend to Damon, but what he did for Caroline in this epiosde... He saw her tears and didn't even think twice. BTW at this point in the show I would totally ship Caroline with Enzo more than with anyone else lol

I love how loyal Enzo is and how he saw Caroline crying and did something about it. With Elena knowing she loved Damon in s3 and still choosing Stefan I think it’s bc that relationship hadn’t had proper closure and she did tell Damon that no matter what she felt for him she still hadn’t un-fell for Stefan. Also, Elena values the opinions of those she cares about so I don’t think she was ready to admit that she loved Damon out loud to the people who had only seen him as bad and who didn’t support her getting closer to him.

I want to say that I don't blame Stefan for his his ways of dealing with loss of Damon. He doesn't know how to cope and it's not been that long since it happened (only 4 months). But I think that the worst thing in what he did there was the fact that he just gave up on finding Damon and did it rather fast. And for me thats the main reason why Enzo was mad at him and it's def a reason why I'm a little mad at him in this episode.

Everyone grieves differently, but I really don’t think Stefan pushing everyone away, especially Caroline is the answer. Caroline really needs him and he is treating her pretty badly. I get why Enzo is angry at him. I’m glad that Stefan did take the time to look for all the ways to bring Damon back though, before he gave up. Bonnie and Damon are fantastic together! Their friendship is one of my favorite things about this show. Elena erasing her memory of Damon was so painful to watch this entire episode. I don’t agree with her doing it, but she couldn’t live her life without him. The parallels between Elena describing the first time she fell in love with Damon to Damon holding the necklace in the house at the same time was so beautiful and heartbreaking to watch. It’s crazy that after erasing that one memory, every other good memory disappeared as well. If you think about it, that necklace was originally given to Elena by Stefan, but it kind of ended up being a symbol of Delena because of Damon being the one to always find it for her after she would lose it.

Whenever you do a rewatch, pay attention to the Necklace and all the significant scenes that take place with it between Elena and Damon, it starts in season 1 Episode 11 when Elena first doesn't have the necklace after she takes it off and wants nothing to do with it after Stefan hiding the Katherine matter. This later gets referenced in Season 1 Episode 14, it becomes a symbol of trust, Elena uses the necklace so Damon would trust her. Here goes the words she states: ...But I'm promising you this now, I will help you get Katherine back. Season 3 Episode 2 after Damon after the necklace was returned to her episode before. I'll help you bring him back. Also, in my opinion, the symbolic ending of Stelena took place in Season 3 when she refused to take the necklace back in Episode 5, as it references back to the last time she didn't wear the necklace and took it off back in Episode 10 of Season 1. Season 3 Stefan and Elena, you also hear them at times knowing that things were over or that they couldn't go back to the way things were, and it's really the tale about making the mistake of knowing something is over between someone but still trying to hang on and give it another ago.

Y'all remember how they left Stefan in a box for 3 months to drown over and over again and no one even thought to look or check on him, INCLUDING CAROLINE. Yeah none of them have the right to get on Stefan about being not being a good friend. AND YOU CANNOT TELL SOMEONE HOW TO GRIEVE, everybody's hurting, and him probably more than everyone else, so it's not fair to just blame everything on him

At this point in the show, I wasn't very fond of Enzo's character. He changes his priorities incredibly fast, jumping from one thing to the next like a grasshopper, and every couple of episodes he has a different goal. First he didn't want to forgive Damon in season 5, because he claimed Damon was a terrible person. Then he did a 180 and was like 'no I changed my mind, the Damon who was a monster, is exactly the Damon Salvatore I want and remember.' After that, when he found out Damon killed Maggie, he decided to turn his humanity off and get revenge. Only to change his mind and kill himself instead, for no good logical reason. Only to change his mind again and decide he hasn't actually gotten revenge by killing himself, so he better torture the characters as a ghost. Only to change his mind yet again, and claim he wants to be alive, because I guess dying wasn't the great outcome he pictured it to be, and he wanted to be friends with Damon like before. He just can't make any decision without going back on it a few episodes later.

As for Stefan and Enzo ... Enzo is right and not in the sense that it is true that he did what he could to find his brother and I understand his pain especially because Damon for Stefan is vital in his life but I do not love the his attitude towards others and especially towards Caroline ... it must be said as Caroline said that he was very asshole ... this is the part of Stefan that I don't love became unpleasant when he is the one who suffers. And I love Enzo because he is the only character who understands who Stefan really is and his negative side.

I f*cking LOVE ENZO!!!!😍❣💯 He is the most honorable, devoted, LOYAL, person on the show. It's like once he cares for you that's it. He will support you, he will protect you, he will defend you, no matter what. I was gonna write all the scenes where Stefan f*cked Damon over. And then where Damon was selfless and supportive of Stefan but that would be too long. Just suffice it to say, hands down, Enzo is a prince and frankly I don't think those people deserve him or his friendship.

Hmm, I disagree considering they’ve both told things to each other that they didn’t tell other people and have talks about their futures. She never spoke about a certain future with any of her other partners . To me stelena was based on lies bc even after she knows that he’s a vampire, she doesn’t fully know him or his ‘other side’. There was never complete honesty about everything. Can’t say much more about delena without it being spoilers but this is just my opinion and I respect yours.
