Here is a detailed & comprehensive look on how to reach the Fern Ledge in Yosemite National Park. FYI i also have an un narrated version of this video just incase the sound of my voice makes you cringe. These clips were filmed in the Spring of 2024. The Fern Ledge is an amazing place and i hope this video helps you get there.

I lived in camp 6 and worked in curry village the summer of 1998. It was amazing. Camp 6 does not exist anymore and curry village is yosemite village. I hiked and rock climbed alot. I have been everywhere in the valley but somehow i never saw that hike. I'm disabled now. It looks like a place i would have wanted to go. I wish i could. Thankyou for the beautiful camera work. It took me there brother. I recommend hiking to Vogelsang from Toulumne Meadows, spend the night and then climb to the top of Fletcher peak. Its epic. Cheers!

Worked in Curry Village Summer -Winter '77! That was after being a Camp 4 Dirtbag for 3 months! Ran out a $ and got tired of dumpster diving for bottles & cans!! Also perm. disabled now, so I also like reliving my adventures by watching these wonderful shows!! I cleaned the bath houses & my girlfriend worked in the sporting goods shop @ Curry. Got great discounts on X-Country skis for winter trips into the high country!!

Cool video. However, part of what makes these "going rogue" routes so cool, is that you are very unlikely to encounter crowds of people and scenes of human related impact. I fear that with these videos, these routes are now being exposed to the masses, and sensitive areas of this already greatly impacted valley will become trampled. In your disclaimer section, perhaps you could ask folks to please tread lightly and please try to keep these quiet corners of the valley as free from impact as possible. Try to walk and hike on rock wherever possible and avoid crushing the vegetation. Leave no Trace . . . blah, blah, blah. You know the drill. Thanks !!

Just found your videos and watching through them. My Dad worked in the park in 76/77 and us kids did a lot of exploring around the valley. This is one I didn't know about. You scored with the seeing the bear!

Thank you for the extremely informative video, I’ve been wanting to do this hike for a decade. No way I’m going out on that final ledge though! Great video! Suggestions for future vids of “secret”Yosemite : Indian Canyon, El Capitan Gully, The notch between Cathedral Rocks and Gunsight that takes you to top of Bridalveil Falls and base of Silver Strand Falls in springtime. Well done!

I've hiked this 3 times, but only the section I knew as Sunnyside Bench, which was the entire horizontal traverse from top of landslide/boulder approach to top of lower Yosemite Falls. My best hike was late summer w/ almost NO water in falls but allowed access to large pools and lip of lower falls - could actually swim in pools. About 1980s! I did not attrmpt Fern Ledge access.

This is such a cool channel. I love the trails that not as many people know about, which are the type you do. Those are the kinds of trails I like here in the Appalachian Mountains, as well. I went to Yosemite in 2017 - such an amazing place! Liked and subscribed.

I see you have lots of commenters who have known Yosemite intimately for many years. That's great. I have seen people on that ledge from the Falls trail, and I never knew how they got there. I have tried to figure out how to get to the middle falls area for years too. This was very useful!

My favorite areas of yosemite are around cathedrial lakes an sunrize lake .Worked in Yosemite from 1987-2000 an my last job in the park was managing Crane Flat grocery/ gas station. but i was still hourly not salary. (i never would have had the time if i went salary) For any whom wish to work in the park an still be an explorer.
