I really appreciate your enthusiasm and resilience. I too feel that the Sierra Nevada have few equals in this world. I am currently living in Chile, which is also pretty spectacular, but I have yet to find that feeling that the Sierras gave me during the approximately 50 years that I backpacked there. A driving force every year that I lived in California was to go on one to two, seven to fourteen day trips into that awesome backcountry every year. I really miss it. I have followed your videos for a few years now and congratulate you on the variety of presentations that you have used. They just keep getting better.

@@carollansen2810 it was amazing! We spent the night camping at Gilbert lake, woke up in the morning and hiked to Heart lake, that’s as far as we went, came back and fished flower lake, caught a beautiful brook trout. And headed down in the afternoon. The only sucky part was we packed Too Heavy! I was sore for a couple days after. But I’ve been bit by the bug so now I have upgraded all my gear and got some dehydrated food for next time 😊 I actually want to go again this weekend but I’m scared of all the fires and stuff…I don’t wanna get stuck in a bad situation

Little Lakes Vally (through which Rock Crk flows) is the most beautful Eastern Sierra bang for the hiking buck. Mosquito Flat pkg lot where you left your car is one of the highest paved roads in the Sierra (10,000ft) . A close rival is Horseshoe Meadow way back south out of Lone Pine. The relatively flat Little Lakes Valley trail is one thing, but getting out of the car at 10K and huffing down the trail can be challenging to the unacclimated, which is most people. Your Timelapse of your camp during the night was GORGEOUS.

@@Sheety33 absolutely! Just went up with my wife yesterday for a short hike to Fresno Dome. We only live about 45 mins away from the Sierra so in our decade together we have been all over the place. Henry Coe State Park is another gem of a park in California. Spring there is absolutely unbelievable with the wildflowers. It’s 87,000 acres and it’s so easy to get away from everyone. Highly suggest! Went there a few years ago and then was so impressed I went back twice this spring.

Did your sleeping pad not come w a patch kit? We went camping beginning of the month and i found out my sleeping bag was meant for a insulated pad under me, not just an air mattress so one night was super cold. Used a spare sleeping bag under and it helped. How light is your load out again? It seems pretty ultra light or just the bare necessities. Beautiful videos as always.

It came with a repair kit but the hole was right on the seam, making a field repair impossible. Luckily the company sent me a new one no questions asked!
