Intimately connected to the land of Israel, Shavuot is the festival of the bringing of the first-fruits to the Holy Temple. Shavuot is also the anniversary of the Sinai revelation and the receiving of Torah by Israel, and since the destruction of the Holy Temple the emphasis of Shavuot has been Torah study. Ultimately, Torah study and the bringing of the first-fruits are both expressions of the centrality of Torah in our lives. When we build the Holy Temple we best exemplify the fulfillment of Torah in this world by the bringing of the first-fruits.

The Spirit of Honoring obeying loving and seeking God and His Holiness is in the beautiful heart of this message, I love the first fruits offerings of all life that God sustains by His pure power and Grace, I love the wisdom of the ages and the depth of understanding portrayed by historians and their Love for God and His assignment for them, I am so very in Awe of God and these His people and His lands of the original covenant but do not Forsake Jesus (Yashua)the Messiah for He truly is the Passover Lamb and the fulfillment of all the Torah Through Him all who believe are by the Blood He shed cleansed Of Sin and then by Faith adopted into the Family of God being called the sons and daughters of God who by the Spirit of God cry out Abba Father forgive us and teach us the way everlasting, sanctify our lives that we may be a Holy people unto thee in Jesus’s precious Name Amen 🙏 God bless you and May His peace be upon you and keep you beneath the shelter of His mighty wings 🕊✝️🙏♥️

Rabbi -- when eagles get old, they go away into seclusion and their beak actually falls off. But then a new one grows back and the eagle comes out of seclusion again. Thank you for these words of Torah.

I was totally confused about where to go and what to do, as I went to a Zoom session and I was apparently the only participant. So, I clicked on this link in the many series of emails about Shavuot and decided just to watch these, from which I learned a great deal--the Shavuot is derived from an original wheat festival apparently and I did not realize that the Christian Pentecost was related to Shavuot. I thought I might find something to help me maintain and improve my modern Hebrew learned at Middlebury College's School of Hebrew's summer immersion program in 2016, 2017, NS 2018, BUT MOST is in English, which is probably just as well since I only got to ACTFL Intermediate High level in Hebrew after 21 weeks, divided into three summers. At any rate, I learned a great deal here. Toda Rava.

Shouldn't today ( 5-31-2015 ) be Shavuot because it is the full moon time and travelers to Yerushalayim needed light to travel by donkey and by foot to reach the Temple from other lands ?

Shalom, In YaHuWShuWaH HaMaShiYaCh The FIRSTFRUITS, Over the years, there has been much debate about counting the day of Pentecost. PENTECOST ALWAYS Falls On The First Day Of The Week: [THIS Is The Day Which Is Called "Sunday" on the Pagan Calendar]. Sunday, May 24, Pentecost 2015

There is NO / 0 scriptural reference ps that says Sukkoth was when the Mighty One came down and gave the Torah. Maimonides first said this false fact in the 12th century. No ancient writings say this to be a fact. To mention a couple recognized ancient historians Josephus and Philo never said anything about Sukkoth in reference to the giving of the Torah. In Ex 19:1 it says the children of Israel came to Sinai in the third month from the very day they left Egypt. Even if we count 29 day months you come up with a minimum of 87 days from leaving Egypt they came into the Sinai area, but Sukkoth is a maximum of 56 days from any Passover at most. Although Sukkoth was around the time of the giving of the Torah (within 30 days or so) it was not on Sukkoth. If you can scripturally prove me wrong I would appreciate you doing so! Thank You Sir

@@perryburgess8460 and Jubilees says it was the 16th of the third month. So I believe now that the timing was the middle of the third month and generally happened during Shavu’oth. I do not accept Jasher as authoritative because it has discrepancies in it such as this. I give preference to Jubilees because it was found in the DSS and Jasher was not.
