I was 23 years old in the summer of 1978. I remember watching this Final. How did Holland not win this match ? When Nanninga, with a beauty of a header, thudded the ball into the back of the net for the equalizer, I was certain Holland would win. It wasn't to be. Sadly Dirk Nanninga died on July 21st, 2015 aged 66.

I am from England, I was 13 in 1978 ... I remember the delay of SEVEN MINUTES by the Argentina, not coming out together with Holland. That in itself breaks the assumed norm of two teams coming out together in a Final Match?. Many teams has suffer from bad arbitral decisions. Germany in 1966, England in 1986, Argentina in 1990. But only the argentinians cry and claim for “justice“ after 30 years, despite the fact that they have won games and even tournaments cheating. And by the other hand you have to be able understanding the difference between a mistake by the referee like in 1966, 1986 (whit the hand of Maradona) or 1990 and in the other hand games fixed or even tournaments fixed like the one in 1934 or this one in 1978. The game between Argentina and Perú and the 6-0 win its at least very controversial and the information refering to a fixed result by the Argentina and Perú Governments exist.

I don't watch soccer that much but I realized Fifa is corrupted based on Haiti vs Mexico gold cup semi final. This is just fixed . Fake penalty given to Mexico at the last minutes . Even the Mexican players were shocked . Some were confused and thought that they were offside or a free kick outside of the box was gonna be given .. they were not proud of the win .

Because they had no place in the final. They had to win by 4 goals to reach it to Peru's best national team in history and Videla, the dictator, entered the dressing room of Peru and told them what they had to do... Peru's starting line up was changed and sent to the bench and they allowed 6 goals .... that is how.

And if you think Argentina vs Peru was rigged, West Germany vs Austria was the most blatantly rigged match of all time.
