Well that's a generality cuz simply calling something trite is subjective to begin with. If a guy calls something trite out of some self-aggrandizing need to be "that guy" who finds things trite, then harmlessly opining that he comes off as a hipster seems ok. If you're going to dislike a montage that a kid spent hrs on just because you personally snub your nose at how modern films are presented, then it seems you're missing the editor's pt & judging on the wrong merits. That's reasonable right?
