The Image is a sheer masterpiece in erotic cinema. Funny thing I noticed is the main actor's dub sounds exactly like Racer X from the Speed Racer anime from the 1960s

Bravo! Excellent installment in this series! I agree about Little Mother. It just lacked something, maybe like a more Ilsa type character and brutality? I know I am going to be branded a rebel for saying this, but The Image is my favorite S/m themed film of all time. Yeah, (The Story of O is #2 and The Laughing Woman #3), but The Image, which I can tell you from personal experience, has more real life S/m relationship dynamics. Also, Mendum is always interesting to look at. She's not a traditional pretty face, but a unique one that seems to have something hidden under the surface, which is fascinating. Also, the music was perfectly intense for the near end heavy session. In sum, it may even be my favorite erotic film of all time. OK, I await the next installment with baited breath, as they say. As you The Image is my favourite film , I feel to take an aspect of sexuality much maligned and create beauty out of taboo, out of brutality (to some) is testament to Metzgers skill. Some of it is corny but this is 1975 after all - its a very powerful little movie and as you mention the music is also key to the visual. When fifty shades of grey was popular and people rejoiced about it I chuckled thinking and felt privileged to have seen this and knew it knocked fifty into a cocked hat. There is so much I wanted to show but with respect to you tube (that I could use their medium to share and review it with others) had to be so very careful in what I could show. It will always be my favourite Metzger movie and a personal favourite as no other movie seems to exude such style. Some of the compositions in the way they are staged, lit and executed proves it is a masterpiece. Everything IMHO just works beautifully. It's great to have positive feedback and as always I appreciate it. Its been very difficult to edit these documentaries without overstepping the mark but am delighted people seem to enjoy them. Here's to part 3 and I welcome your thoughts as always. Best 🦀
