Hello Mr Apple, I've been busy moving house and so I've been out of the loop recently, but I am enjoying catching up with your latest videos which are as erudite and entertaining as ever. And thank you for illuminating this director and the higher quality end of the adult genre. I know these must have been a labour of love to put together. It's appreciated! Excellent work. It's sad to see Jamie Gillis fall into the sad Gonzo Porn films of the VHS era. He was actually acting and had cinematic charm in Metzger's films.

I think he was a superb actor and like some of the others its a shame he didnt break into mainstream. However his reputation went before him sadly.

Top stuff Sir 👍 The info where do you find it all 🤷‍♂️ book covers and movie poster unreal. Yes 70s skin flicks they could act and people were all natural. Naked came the stranger with the stunning Mary Stuart and very underrated Marc Stevens. The Opening or Misty Beethoven Top Top Film with beautiful Terri Hall and Jamie Gillis, Jamie really really could play the nasty when needed. Is it me or does Jamie look like David Naughton a bit when he was in American Werewolf In London 😂 CJ Laing also stunning she had a restaurant in San Fran if I can remember rightly. The gorgeous Annette Haven must watch V the Hot One very kinky flick thanks for back ground info on her 👍 A film of Suzanne Mcbain to catch is Odyssey The Ultimate Trip (1977) and thanks for info on Jenny Baxter very underrated lady from the golden era . Yes agree Femme De Sade with Mimi Morgan and Sharon Thorpe also did a film called Baby Rosemary (1976) a must watch. The advert with Gloria brilliant 👏👏👏 Keep it up Crab 😉

If there's anyway you can help getting this documentary out to others would be eternally grateful. It was so difficult trying to keep within the boundaries of what could be shown but glad it's on here. That was a good overview of this era of his. Again he showed true filmmaking talent in a genre that usually isn't erotic or sexy. Metzger understood that there was more to sex films than sex. Personally, I liked all of the films in this episode, however, it has been so long since I've watched them that I can't make any choices as to the best right now. Oddly, Cat & the Canary was his one film I didn't care for, even though "The Jackal" Edward Fox was in it (big fan of his). It wasn't due to it not being a sex film, just a boring film. Anyway, Raines and Leonard both had something more than the average sex film actresses. In Raines case, she was fun. In Leonard's case, she seemed like someone you could have an intelligent conversation with over dinner. Take care, and I appreciate the effort you put into this excellent series. Maybe you should splice it together and try to get it onto some TV services as a documentary.

Thank you so very much for your comment. I agree that Metzger films have so many layers to them and not only about the sex. His films are about the subject of sex but the narrative and dignity is first and foremost , the lovemaking takes second best but is done so well and with such respect it does not make any of these films sleazy - in fact many of the porno chic era films aren't unless they set out to be so and then become niche (Avon films for example) but even the heavier elements of a Metzger movie have that refined, classy quality quite unique and almost eclipsed by Damiano in some of his greatest works. One wonders if Metzger inspired these directors as well? It would be great for the documentary to reach a wider audience, but alas, there would be very few networks to touch it due to the subject matter despite the documentaries being tame visually. Appreciate you taking the time to comment, and I am so happy you enjoyed them. It was such a painstaking task but a thoroughly rewarding one on the whole. Very best 🦀.

@@LOOKLOOKLOOKAGAIN Metzger can be said to have not made "adult movies" but "movies for adults." That's one thing I like. The general sex film fans would probably fall asleep watching his films, but those of us who are looking for more than sex scenes (and have a sense of cinema) will praise him. I always think of Joe Sarno, too, when I think of Metzger. However, Sarno branched out a bit more in themes. All of this just makes me wonder why so few took up the mantle of making real films rather than just sleaze, but then I think most people just want sleaze. Take care.
