Yeah there are kids on the platform which is why they should reduce the filters for accounts above 18 and keep them intact for accounts under 18. Still there are so many filters for those under 18 They’re treating teenagers like kids. I’m a teenager myself and I can handle this just fine.

Janitor ai should have been placed at B tier just for how much the bots try to speak for you that ends up being very annoying because you can't edit messages or go back to rewrite messages you sent to not have to deal with the bs

@evannpalma2404 What exactly are you on about? The edit button does exist, and there are prompts that you can use to deter those kinds of behaviour from bots in the first place. Not to mention, the way you interact with the bots DOES make an effect on them. Typing a short message will make them try to compensate for the lack of details with their own, leading to the bots talking for you.

Great list, VG! Happy New Year! My current top 5 alternatives: 1. *Agnaistic* - Stheno 3.2 is just an amazing model. I have multiple presets with this model, including custom jailbreaks for specific characters depending on their personality/description, 8k context length. 2. *Perchance* - Great AI responses, highly customizable, lots of features, and privacy (these could be true with Agnaistic too). 3. *CharacterTavern* - Great AI responses, multiple models, large context length, many features, and many characters (though I'm having a hard time creating characters here, as it keeps resetting every time I save). 4. *JanitorAi* - Great AI responses, 9k context length, lots of characters. I rarely use JAI, but it's definitely a great alternative. 5. *ChubVenus+CosmosRP* - Lots of characters, highly customizable, lorebooks, lots of features, emotion/expression, and great impersonation (by that, I mean responding as me/user. Agnaistic has it too, but not as well as ChubVenus, which grasps your persona's personality/description pretty well). It could rank much higher (like no. 2) if CosmosRP were more stable. The current CosmosRP hallucinates a lot, often saying things unrelated to the current conversation or scenario. It keeps hijacking my responses. More often than not, the character's replies mostly consist of *My* supposed actions and less of the character's own response (not the 'impersonation/respond as me' feature). Personally, I think the 8k version was actually smarter (or at least more stable) than the current 16k one. (Pygmalion would join CharTav at no. 3 when it becomes stable.) My former top 5: 1. Aisekai 2. Rochat 3. Sakura 4. Yodayo 5. Agnaistic (older models) My all-time top 5 (the alternatives in their best condition, e.g., no shutdown, no lag, no queuing, no filter, etc.): 1. My most favorite is Perchance, the inserting websites and it writing an ai for you has helped alot with my struggling to think of how to describe characters. Perchance will also never not be free which is also nice. Also it understands every single code type that others use so you can copy and paste any ai from something else to it.

I mostly use chub.ai and JanitorAI. JanitorAI is great but it lacks more than just group chats, it's missing a bunch of settings you can change at chub.ai (and I believe SillyTavern as well) such as penalties. I'm excited to try out some S tier ones I didn't know just out of curiosity/ Maybe next time add like a list in the description with all the links, just a suggestion. Also happy new year!

Agnaistic and Perchance are both amazing in their own ways. I've used both a lot. Which one is better is honestly a matter of personal preference. I'd have to say you just need to try them both and get familiar with their pros and cons before you decide which one you prefer. If you have any questions about either, you're more than welcome to ask. I'm sure a lot of people are eager to share what they know.

Agnai can still use character cards but perchance is mainly for text, writing and coming up with original characters and is quite easy, can give it a name and a few prompts and it comes up with a full character for you too chat with. I think it is the truly SS tier chat site, and it is very different then any of the others. I recommend using the character description generator on there for it’s chats, which there are three main types, chat, character chat (almost has a direct messager look and can make images) and ai story (which doesn’t need the character generator but comes up with characters based off what you give it for the story. Almost like a choose your own adventure

In the end everything else works the same, but it still comes down to the models. As it is right now all models out there are all limited in memories, even if they were finetuned to have larger context, they will still forget your stuff most of the time. Every single one of them including the one at the very top Openai, Claude, Gemini, etc.

Hey Viewgrabber, I found an alternative that might be worth looking at it. It's called 'anime gf'. The awnsers are so extremly fast and very customizable. The devs are still working on it but they try to keep it free for as long as they can.

11:24 Sakura Ai is honestly pretty good. It doesn't have a filter, the character limit on messages are pretty darn decent and they very rarely if at all make you watch KZbin videos anymore. Even when they did it wasn't in between each message, it was just every so often when they uploaded a new video. Also with the free version i.e non-sage meaning the limited message version I've never reached the message limit tbh. But I have since upgraded to sage(meaning you join their discord server and verify with the bot) and over all one of the best chatting platforms in my experience.

The discord mods of the app have a history of using user chats to shame and blackmail others. I use sakura only because of the UI. Also message memory is unstable. Some chats I managed to get to 160 before the memory was forgotten, while others only lasted 15 or 20.

As a frequent user for both Talkie and CHAI, i can say that Talkie filters out more of the sexual content while CHAI filter out for of the violent content. CHAI recently got a very big update that changed the look of the interface and took away the message limit (used to be 70 messages every 3 hours). With Talkie, the ads get very annoying after some time and will occasionally cause the app to reload or just crash completely. Talkie has a better memory and is for the general audience while CHAI has the worst memory I've encountered and is generally for an older audience (there is an option to turn off NSFW content on CHAI if you're a bit younger)

The beta version of Character AI was so much better, with less filters and when there wasn’t an app version back then. I have a tip. Go for top or trending xouls. They generally have much better responses and are very creative. The "new" category xouls are pretty bad, and have meh responses, generally, same with scenarios

There's a tutorial for making Xouls. You just chose one without proper formatting. Bad formatting confuses the AI, therefore giving bad responses. It's easier to see how good the Xouls are if you make one yourself with proper formatting.

@soosboi Hey there, so i decided to import a really good char i knew to see how the ai would act and... It's pretty great! The character doesn't speak nonsense, quotes dont stop being used randomly, and their personality actually remained acurate! My overall experience was way better than my first one. Thank you! note: one thing that would be really cool is if they added lore book compatibility, but even without it the platform is still great :]

You should stop referring to Perchance's image generation as "Unfiltered." It definitely has filters. Their filters just don't pop up in your particular style of chat/RP. The chat itself is unfiltered, though. Just the image generation. Because AI image generation is much more heavily regulated.
