Samson looks so sad watching the horses coming and going. I would love to see a video of his first release back into the pasture. Thank you for your caring nature!

Good job Gavin and Joel bless you for letting uses join you on the stable life and all the care you put into each horse and to all the others that help as well . I would trust you all with my animals . Is the roof of the barn doing to have a V shape or a kind of straight so far up and flat across? Well on top of 12 plus 1 to 3 inches. Plus now getting 2 to 4 inches today close to 19 to 20 inches of snow with ice . This past two weeks . More shoveling again. Wow ,Joel that is awesome everything is cut to size going to be cool. Glad Sampson is doing a little better ,I feel for him a beautiful horse.

They are Saw horses because you could lay a log across them and cut the log ( when cutting big timber) and saw that large piece of timber. And also Kids would also climb on them and ride them like they were a horse. Hence Saw Horse. I could see it now back a long time ago some farmer or woodsman moving big timber to clear land or to use the timber to cut for firewood ( thinking in their heads how sturdy the anatomy of a horse looks and deciding in their mind that the sturdiness of a horse anatomy would make a great tool to hold a piece of lumber!) anyway I was just trying to answer your question about the saw horse . I googled it also and this their answer: Straight away, the saw part made complete sense, because the same type of structure is also (and was originally) used to support wood being sawed. With a saw. And, well, it looks like a horse! And you mount things on it, like a person is mounted on a horse. 😊lol

I can see how much more comfortable you are today, as opposed to the other day when it was way below freezing and windy! I'm with you though - it would be better if that covering of snow stayed where it is as opposed to mud, but that's not a choice we can make! Good progress!

Definitely enjoying watching the hay barn going up! My mom and step dad, his 3 sons and his 3 brothers and me built our house when I was in middle school in the late 70's! LOVED IT! Graduated and started hanging dry wall and roofing houses! Did that until I got pregnant with my 1st child. Sure loved it! Loved seeing the horses coming in! Stay warm!

Your workstation legs which you are seeing wood on is actually called a.saw horse. Apparently they resemble a horse. I would of guessed because of work horses but would have been wrong lol

More loafing area under a roof for the horses, and extra equipment storage too I'm really praying for a bale grabber for you, and a new potato digger and a couple other things for the Veggie Boys. What can I put on the list for Grammy?

@lindam_in_michigan370315 күн бұрын
Excellent video editing, Gavin. You always keep them interesting. Joel, do you need equipment to raise the trusses for installation? I don't think a tractor would be tall enough to lift them high enough and assume those will be heavy.
@A_Stable_Life12 күн бұрын
Yes we won't be using the tractors. They don't reach high enough. Stay tuned 😉

Wikipedia explanation; In woodworking, a saw-horse or sawhorse is a trestle structure used to support a board or plank for sawing. A pair of sawhorses can support a plank, forming a scaffold. In certain circles, it is also known as a mule and a short sawhorse is known as a pony. The names come from the shape of the frame, which resembles a horse. Yuppers, I can copy and paste. Smart, ain't I 😅🤣😂
