At 70 years reigned, she was Britain’s longest reigning monarch. She was laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel beside her father King George VI, mother Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, her sister Princess Margret, and her beloved husband Prince Philip. Yeah that would've been a really good tribute to her. I would've written: On September 8th 2022 HM Queen 👑 Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral castle 🏰. She was Britain's 🇬🇧 longest reigning monarch having ruled for 70 years and 214 days, having surpassed the 63 year reign of her great great grandmother Queen 👑 Victoria. Her popularity in Britain 🇬🇧 and the commonwealth and around the world 🌍 was very high. In the final years of her life she was still consistently popular despite Prince Harry and his wife the American 🇺🇸 actress Megan Markle later deciding to leave the royal family to live in Montecito, California and making accusations of racism towards the royal family, as well as Prince Andrew's association with convicted sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell She was succeeded by her son King 👑 Charles III, who was the oldest person to ever come to the British 🇬🇧 throne and the longest serving heir apparent in British 🇬🇧 history.

As for Andrew he could be either guilty or innocent but I still personally feel what happened with Epstein was his own fault as it's stupid befriend a man who's clearly a sex offender and worse still is that he expected the friendship to go well when in reality he was deluding himself I think and now he's paid the price.

actually, it's only been the two Elizabeths and Victoria who have had such long runs. And that's only because they got there so young. By comparison, Victoria's grandfather, who was 22yo when he became king had a sixty year reign. Edward III got there at fourteen and reigned for forty years. Had Edward VI lived as long as his father, he'd have made 46 years on the throne, dying in 1593. If he had lived as long as his cousin, the earl of Hertford, he could've made 1619 and had a reign of seventy-two years. I love that this ending really shows the what if conversation if prince Philip and queen Elizabeth's imagined conversation after they passed, like prince Philip escorting while praising his wife to the afterlife/heaven, when the fact that the queen organized her own funeral is the fact that this conversation will be possible to happen. And when Prince Philip leaves her in the last few minutes is like, "Let me leave you for I while so you can reflect on your 70 years of ruling and long term service for the country". And seeing the 4 Elizabeth actresses with no dialogue is like a free style dialogue that the viewers can make up in their heads, here's mine: Her Army self: *salutes "I have done the best that I can as the princess that joined the army to serve her country" Her current self: "I know you did" *turns around and walks away Her as new the monarch and her middle aged self: *appears Her current self: *slightly looks over "Ladies, after 70 years of ruling, we can now finally lift off the heavy crown now and pass it on" Bonus: My imagined final line, if it's been said as a farewell for the show by Imelda Staunton: "Ladies, after retelling the longest reigning monarch of our country her story, and reaching its end after 7 years. We can now go back to Queen Elizabeth's wonderful contributions and rule through this show, that 4 ladies are needed just to retell and to embody the the life of a wonderful person that have finished her time on earth"

When I see the young Elizabeth saluting the old one I must think of what is written in 2 Timothy 4, 7-8: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."

Elizabeth, the Great. The very last of the Royals.

I wish Philip would've seen the growth the character of him had throughout the series and the amazing man he was shown to be. If only Elizabeth saw this to know that despite decades of controversies and skepticisms, she was still loved by most 😢

Who can think of any others that for so long devoted their life totally to the British people. Elizabeth II, was a very rare soul and born to fulfill a very rare destiny - and she did it very well.

Scene is done perfect including Philip leaving before the queen to symbolize he went on ahead before his wife and queen.

We will all have to face a moment like this in our lives about our mortality, even the monarchy, as well such a deep moment.

That conversation! It’s easy to imagine that that was their final conversation with each other. Eternal love and peace to Elizabeth and Philip!

Honourable conclusion befitting the Queen and a great series

What's loveliest in this scene is that, yes, we see Olivia and Clare again, but you can see Matt Smith in Jonathan Pryce's performance - he's still that young man who was Elizabeth's fiercest supporter. "The essence of your duty" indeed.

This is the most beautiful scene ever . ...in my opinion.

I watched this whole episode again today 😢 And I must say I tuned into all the sensitive implications to a deeper degree. It was beautifully written and acted and I tearfully reflected on Her Majesties' incredible endurance and devotion to her duty right up till her very last day.❤ She was Stellar.

I haven't seen The Crown, but It almost seems that she is saying goodbye to herself, to Westminster Abbey, knowing that the next time it'll be for her funeral service... Powerful scene...

I can't imagine looking back over that many years of life. I've lived only half as long as she did and am already sifting through the years. This matters, that doesn't. Be mindful of this, don't worry about that. Imagine twice as much time to ponder?

A fitting tribute to our Queen.

She definitely was one of a kind. I'm still in the camp of wanting them to skip Charles and put William on the throne.

What an ending to an excellent series

I’m curious what the original ending of the show would have been if Queen Elizabeth didn’t die ?
@HailSocialite5 ай бұрын
Is there any indication that they changed the ending? Filming started before she passed, then paused when she did. I assume all the scripts had already been written by that point. If there’s an interview/article where they say how they changed the ending based on her passing, I’d be interested to read it.
