"As long as two people exist, war will exist" - Erwin Smith. The end message of Attack On Titan really nailed the mark. That message being, humanity will always find a reason to fight. No matter what anyone tried to do. Whether it be Eren or anyone else, you can't take conflict from people, the threat of war always exists whether from the outside or within. In the cruel world of Attack On Titan, this end message was poetic.

But as bleak as that sounds, Armin and Zeke's epiphany is equally hopeful. There'll always be suffering, pain, and war, but there's also joy and love and life. And it's up to you to find out what that is for you. Another main theme of the show that people keep ignoring when talking about the ending. "The world is cruel, but also beautiful" -Mikasa

To explain more clearly the answer to Eren's motive is explained by Armin. Armin showed Eren the book about the outside world. Like he said himself, " A free uncoccupied world." But in the book it was an empty world without civilisation, just a natural state world where humanity can reborn and flourish. That's why Eren was disappointed when he learned humanity was alive oustide the walls. And that's what he means by "wanted to level everything." He wanted to exterminate humanity from outside so that it become the empty and natural world he saw in Armin's book. But for him it's like something he want to do without really knowing the reason why. And in reality there are no reasons for anything. Why do you love something ? Why do you hate something so much ? Why something is evil, why something is right ? There are no absolute answers and there are no reasons exept those we create ourselves. That's why, except knowing what Eren wanted, no one has true reason to do what they are doing. Nothing has reasons except those we create and accept. And Eren, thanks to his powers, has not a clear mind to really think about it. He just know he wanted to erase humanity outside the walls.

Aactually he said why he did it just after : because he is an Idiot who got power on his hand , totally opposed to armin who always thinks before acting on even after he got titan powers from season 1 to the end the theme of fear and fighting fear is repeated, eren seems always fighting because he is scared , but armin is fighting fear as he says to zeke. Well this is how I see it at the end

Thats BS dude! Eren wasnt dissapointed cause the world wasnt empty, he was dissapointed how to messed up the world was. How wars are being fought, people being oppressed and having to live in refugee camps. The fact Eldians would never be left alone and there is no true freedom as Eren foresaw/hoped for. Thats why he was dissapointed.

@@TheOneOnlyHunter Eren ? Scared ? Absolutely not. As there are possibilities of interpretation, i think fear is not a possible answer for Eren. He never was scared during the entire anime. And why doing all this if he was scared ? The guy litterally had the power of a god, what was he scared of ? Not his own death since he could have kill his friends to keep it, not to lose his friends since he did the Rumbling and made Sasha and Hange die in the process. He is not scared. And that's the main problem. If he is able to do such thing, it's because he is not scared. But him being a fool, blinded by concepts he doesn't understant, yes, that's a possible answer.
@vincentvieille5996
@vincentvieille5996 12 сағат бұрын
@@TheOneOnlyHunter And your answer is based on false facts. Eren said he wanted to do it to see "this sight". But he didn't say he did it because he was an idiot who got his hands on power. The fact this power make him lose control of himself is not the reason of why he is doing what he is doing. You are confusing the motive to act and the reason of this motive. Eren is not motivated by fear, nor he is motivated by being idiot. There are his nature and what drive him. To say the same in few words, Eren never did the Rumbling because he is an idiot. He did it because he wanted to level everything, motivated by his childhood's dream of freedom. And him being obcessed with that come from the fact he is an idiot blinded by it. That's what he said.

agree with most of your lines, except "And Eren, thanks to his powers, has not a clear mind to really think about it. He just know he wanted to erase humanity outside the walls." --- he doesn't have a clear mind to - reshape the timeline. It's the paradoxical property of the omnipotent power. ---'has not a clear mind to really think about it' -- He can think about it and has - he can't come up with the answer to why - because it's his Nature. One can't explain why a person is born the way you are -- you've explained that yourself.

As far as I can tell, the idea is that Ymir essentially had intense Stockholm syndrome and loved King Fritz, even after death. She could never break free of the chains of that love, even knowing it was what needed to be done. So she saw Mikasa do what needed to be done, if she hadn’t killed Eren, Ymir would likely have not stopped. But seeing Mikasa be able to kill the one she loved, breaking that bond for the sake of the world, she was finally able to let go of her own misguided love and be at peace. Also, in the first chapter of the manga, when Eren wakes up crying, he asks if Mikasas hair has grown- because of the vision of the future and his death where she has shorter hair. I don’t know how much was planned from the start, but a whole lot was!

I think each of the EMA trio contributed equally to Ymir's liberation. Eren showed her the possibility of freedom of choice, Armin showed her the value of the little things in life, Mikasa showed her the possibility of letting go of a loved one...

The one final bit of story, shown only at the end of the recent movie (which is mostly a remaster) is kind of an alternate timeline (created by Ymir seeing Mikasa kill her love, Eren) where Eren, Mikasa, and Armin live ordinary lives, in a world just like ours. Eren even saw this in the vision towards the end of the anime (there is a vague image of it). The trio watch the movie and react to it. The end.

The alternate reality in which mikasa told him his feelings and run off they said that the marleys where killing off the eldians on paradise island so in the end it was genocide eitherway and thats what hajime wants to tell us, that killing never ends because its in our nature there is no freedom. And when eren told that he was a slave to freedom after the whole show was about his freedom is peak anime. This just hits so hard. He cant change what happens, he said he tried but the future was already decided. Even with all his powers he coudnt change it. Which essentialy made him a slave to his destiny an thus a slave to freedom. So powerful. It turned out that way because it was the only way it could turn out. Eren was who he ever was he said it himself. He takes the freedom from others before they do it to him. And because the world in which he was born is how it is it was the only way this story coud turn out. If you have that much god like powers you cant control it its just to much and it becomes a mess. No normal person could handle that. Thats what eren meant when saying "a garden-variety idiot who got his hands on power" "The world is an putcome wrought by all of our choices" = "everyone is partialy to blame" which is true Hope that clears some things. Best piece of story ever written.

The simple meaning of Eren calling himself an idiot is - Eren having the power of the Founder - gave in to his innate nature - take freedom away from those who threaten it. He is someone who's able to do something like the Rumbling for that sake. The only solution he could come with for him to accept - was The 80% Rumbling - to ensure No immediate war of reprisal, a chance for Peaceful time for his friends to live in, The Titan powers to erase away, A Level playing field. For Eren - that's the best resolution he could think of that was acceptable to him. In the previous episode - He gave Zeke's plan a thought - thinking it would lead to far less casualty and does solve the problem. But that was unacceptable to him, his people being sacrificed of perpetuation. If the power had fallen to Zeke - his resolution would play out, a far less cruel ending. If the power had fallen to Armin - he would attempt diplomacy and at max using Partial Rumbling as deterrent. Bcoz the power fell to Eren - Eren's acceptable vision was the only thing Eren would accept. He wanted it to play out the way it was going to, because that's his desire, he wanted to see it through and not leave to chance or future generations... [It also explains why Eren did not discuss about Memories of Future to Armin] In short - "This was the only possible resolution because of who I am"... As to why he can't explain it - it's because of his nature, you can't explain why you're born the way you are, that's why he is unable to answer why he is like that.

18:22 There's a little comedy beat in the manga that they cut out here. In the manga, Pieck was talking as if desperately trying to convince Jean to go. Like, "Don't worry about me! Go on ahead!" But when she turns to look at him, he's already long gone and she's just like "Oh..." They're not close enough for Jean to be that worried about her safety.

Love the way it's hidden, planted across the show, and dropped like a bombshell out of nowhere. it also explains why Dina Titan reached to where Eren was - at the end of Season 2. Hanness ended up dying as a result, but it was needed for the Scouts to save themselves and for Eren to get the hint of the Founder's power.

Regarding Eren's monologue at the end, my personal opinion is that soon after Eren was born, his father told him, "You are free," and he was brainwashed into thinking, "I must be free." I think it was. We have seen many times in this story that adults instill ideas into children. It seemed like Eren was the only one who wasn't brainwashed by Grisha, but on the contrary, he was brainwashing Grisha, but I think Eren was also influenced. In order to be free, Eren laid down everything in order to realize the world beyond the walls that he dreamed of as a child.

The colossal titans faces being cut with what they’re doing; there are people in there aware of what they’re doing and all they can do is watch. Isayama said once the colossal titans returned to being human, they would be lynched by the survivors of the rumbling. This is the story he wants to tell
@swattofficer6624
@swattofficer6624 10 сағат бұрын
With how many colossal titans there were, its not impossible that they would outnumber the rumbling survivors lol. Its not important for the end of the story, but kinda funny when you stop to think for a moment. I think IIRC there are "tens of millions" of titans, and if we use 1920 as the world population base then with 20% left... huh, 400 million, thats actually more than i thought. Nevermind then i guess XD

We saw Eren try to change the path with that little boy getting beaten up in the alley. He says he knows he saves him just for him to be crushed later on and tries to walk away. We then see Eren with the boy on the cliff side apologizing near the refugee camp. He tried to walk away but ended up saving the kid like he was destined to. I like the AOT comparison to Code Geass. Both MCs tried a similar thing, its just AOT has a darker turn and less happy ending and message.

Attack on Titan Final Sponsor: Eren Yeager (I don't know why I trampled 80% of humanity, I cried in a puddle, I want to be with Mikasa, I'm a seagull), Armin Arlert (brilliant strategist, best negotiator, I punched Eren in the face), Mikasa Ackerman (EREN!, EREN, COME BACK TO KONOHA, "I'll tear you apart for Eren", I love kissing severed heads, Ymir chose me), Jean Kirschtein (smart thoughts haunted him, but he was faster), Connie Springer (idiot, cool hairstyle, does anyone even remember my mother?), Reiner Braun (plot-armored titan, I have problems with my head, I will definitely marry Historia), Annie Leonhart (I killed hundreds of scouts, sat in a crystal for 9 years, everyone accepted me), Peak Finger (I'm here for fun, I have a funny titan), Levi Ackerman ( I love explosives, I'm 40, I'm 5'1, "I can chop down titans even without fingers", I block titan blows while half-dead), Historia Reiss (the worst girl in the world, I gave birth to a child for a guy who threw stones at me as a child, I'm the only one who hit Levi, I'm a queen), Zeke Yeager (I'm a keychain, I like to play with sand), Ymir Fritz (I have Stockholm syndrome, I like to give the power to destroy 80% of humanity and suddenly change my mind, I chose Mikasa), Hajime Isayama (I wrote a great story, wrote the characters well, not all of them, but still. I gave Eren motivation to save the island, but I decided to destroy it). And the main sponsor: the Silk Road from the mainland to Paradise (otherwise I don't know how they got to some ship and sailed to the island after everything that happened).
