I can instantly tell when my partner is feeling something just from microexpressions. She’s upset that he spent that much time being intimate with the shifter and didn’t notice or ignored that the vibe was off. Especially since it’s clear to the viewer too that she’s not mimicking Annie all that well really, the mimic was so weirdly bubbly and positive when real Annie was in a bad mood most of the time.

Seeing how Ryan killed Grace was the final straw for Butcher to listen to Joe fully. You know, throughout this season, he tried not to be the Butcher he always was and tried to hold onto the hope for Ryan, which is why he didn’t want the whole supe genocide-but seeing from his perspective that Ryan will be just another Homelander soon enough when he didn’t show any remorse or empathy when he accidentally killed Grace. It's just sad that both of these characters are now headed into dark paths when it showed in the beginning they were trying to be a good person 😢

I actually really love the writing between Annie and Hughie cuz it’s an example of where both peoples emotional responses are entirely valid and NEITHER of them are in the wrong. Like Hughie was essentially raped and had no idea it wasn’t her so he’s totally a victim too but on the other hand Annie’s SUPER valid in her feelings to think that he 100% should have noticed something was up after TEN days and the CONSTANT sex and a proposal when beforehand she’d been in the middle of a SUPER depressive episode and had been struggling ALOT emotionally. Her point of Hughie just going along with the easy happy version cuz it’s easier was kinda valid whether people wanna admit it or not ESPECIALLY when you remember how much he struggled with Annie’s strength and independence last season🤷🏻‍♂️ I cant blame her for being ALITTLE upset and I can’t blame hughie for not suspecting sooner, even if I can acknowledge he SHOULD have known something was up when her depression was just GONE one day. It’s super nuanced and well written.

What the shifter did to Hughie by tricking him into having sex with her is a different issue from Hughie not recognizing his intimate partner was acting weird for ten straight days. Her point about this bubbly version of Annie was easier and so Hughie didn’t examine things as closely as he should have, super valid.

Offcourse Im not saying Annie didnt go though traumatic stuff because she did with the abortion and Firecracker going after her. Just a reminder regarding season 2 of Gen V that the actor who played Andre died the week before they were gonna originally start filming and the showrunners decided to kill the character offscreen. At least they foresight to introduce the plotline that Andre using his powers too much can be fatal to him so you could guess that the Vought scientists holding Marie and the others captive will experiment on them and make Andre overuse his powers

Probably because you've forgotten the significant plot point of season 2, where they found the facility that made Cindy a supe with Lamplighter there. He explained the issue of using V on adults often being fatal or disabling, and says that their goal is to make V that can be used on a person of any age to always give a solid power. So presumably, they have continued their research since then in similar facilities across America, and have stabilised the V somewhat to the extent that its much more reliable and safe to use as an adult. Hell look at Hughie's dad. While it somewhat fucked his head up because his brain had so little function left, he still had a pretty powerful phasing ability, and physically had no side effects whatsoever.

The facility that they were doing these tests on (never shown to be more than 1 facility, which was under stormfront's control) was completely wiped out. Everybody was killed, and the research presumably destroyed. That goal was NEVER stated to have been explicitly achieved anytime after in the show. The v that they are using in season 4 is the EXACT same v from season 1. There is literally no difference. Hughie's dad was the result of giving compound v to an already brain dead person.

My theory about Annie's powers is that Soldier Boy's charging up his last explosion burnt part of V in Annie's bloodstream while she was holding him, making her powers hit or miss from that point on. It was all psychological. She's had identity issues since S1E1. The burst of confidence at the end of last season unlocked flight, but obviously she was beaten down since then. Now she's at peace with herself and has fully realized powers, hence the full flight. I hope they keep the fully realized powers next season and make her an actually formidable supe. EMR as a power is insanely powerful if written well

Since she was a part of the 7, the file they have on her lists her maximum threshold on physical strength. So they used that to engineer the chains/bolts/ect so she can't simply break out of them. The floor is probably reinforced too

She doesn't know what happened between Hughie and the Shifter. All she knows is Hughie fucked another woman and gave her the engagement ring. Meanwhile Annie was kidnapped for 10 days while already being depressed, so it 100% is a natural response for her to be angry in that moment. Is it the LOGICAL response? No, but people aren't logical when it comes to emotions. I feel like too many people are misunderstanding this scene when if you take just a second to think about it ("hey, what if I was kidnapped for 10 days while my partner has been having sex for 20 times with another person that just so happen to look like me") you'd fully understand her frustration. She apologizes in her own way, a way that Hughie understands, relatively quickly later on because she realized she was angry at the wrong person (Hughie) when she should've kept her anger on the shifter

I hope you are wrong about season 5 being about 2 years away. I read that the script is still being worked on and filming should start in November. With post-production, editing and special affects takes how long, I don't know. I'm hoping next summer or fall. I'm soon to be 79 years old and even being in good health I hope I am here to see season 5. I have the same hopes for season 5 of Stranger Things. I don't think season 4 was "weak", but I do think that the whole side plot with Hughie's mom/dad, Frenchie and Colin could have been done back in season 2 and they could have left season 3 and 4 to be much stronger build-ups for season 5. Besides them killing off Victoria those were my only problems with season 4.

The Numan thing isn't that out there, If Homelander was listening to Sage still, all she would have to do is convince him to do it, when the time is right explain that she wouldn't be a good puppet and who is next in line. Basically exactly what she did retroactively after Numan was dead. Since Sage clearly had people close to Singer, it's not hard to believe that she also knew about the virus and could have used that to convince Homelander to kill her to.

I thought maybe Firecracker caught the supe virus and passed it onto Homelander via her milk. But I guess a reaction to the drugs that she uses to lactate makes more sense. She did look healthier at end of episode though. Maybe lots of makeup or shes stopped taking the drugs (which will piss of HL if he doesn’t get his milky)

I completely agree that this was a setup season. This was really good season that was truly a cliffhanger. The other seasons had minor ones, but this one is a big one like season 1. I'm just hoping they don't drop the ball on the final season because so many shows do. They try so hard to be extra shocking that they ruin the series **cough** Game of Thrones **cough cough** I suspect Firecracker is infected with a version of the virus they were developing in Gen V. Vought knew about the Woods, they didn't know what all tye doctors were doing, but it's not much different from how they raised Homelander. They created the supes and now have a drug that can control them. I bet Edgar's in on it

By far the absolute best episode of the season...Shape Shifter was such a kick as sup...wish they would have kept her around...Loved Ryan's arc...Loved that they brought back the Crusher at the end...Mute girl finally spoke... Frenchie a villain next season, so here for it...Sage planning this the whole thing the whole time..awesome...Ashley a Sup didn't see that coming but Nice...Butcher turning evil I like...Star Light was actually Not boring..Liking the more gritter version of her...And as per usual Anthony Star as Homelander was perfection as usual...10/10

TBH Grace fucked up everything, Billy realised that he is done he is in no condition to fight, told Ryan right things, but then Grace just turned things into hell. And yeah, Sage probably wanted to kill Victoria from the beginning, but got fired and thrn got lucky as she said speaking to Homelander. Well, Ryan, Soldier boy and Homelander are gonna be all together in the final season cause all got betrayed ans share quite the similar story. Buther is now all alone, doesn't need a team. Starlight is the only one that is still free, so i guess she might wanna find A-train and Ashley to save the rest of the team. Perfect Finale.

I really don’t want to make Billy into a big bad, but to have “scorched earth” between Homelander and Billy, I don’t see any other way. I still think Ryan could be the key to defeating Homelander. He was born with powers, with a human mother, being a longtime fan of Supernatural, Kripke has a long time theory of pure good comes from the human component, and that plus a powerful side, can win. Homelander was made in a test tube, Ryan could be stronger largely based on his human and power infused component. It was an excellent finale
