The Findhorn Foundation

We are three Belgian students, studying Journalism. For our graduation project, we visited the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. We met some interesting people and made this documentary about them and the Foundation.
Jewels Kinnair, Beatrix Descamps, Michael Mitton and Jonathan Caddy, the son of the original founders, gave us a look in the Foundation and showed us how they live their life in this community.

Basically a place where people who have nothing better to do and do not want to be part of the real world hide away. They keep using the word community but they refer to there community which has nothing to do with the local area.

I always wondered why they didn't think of a different name for the place, instead of nicking the local village name. I do know people who were there in the 60s and 70s and it really was vibrant and fun. I was there at the end of the 90s and it appeared to me that they relied very heavily on the hype that had been generated, the workshops were always so, so expensive. The general ethos is wonderful, work should be love in action but above that life should be love in action.

@@peachypie8018 If you watch any of the videos they keep churning out, the bulk are very well scripted so the word “foundation” is very rarely used. However they always use “Findhorn” as if they owned the place or were actually part of the village. The other word they love to use in “community” giving the impression they are heavily involved in the local way of life. I think not. Then they string them together, “Findhorn community” giving the false impression that they are part of the “local” community which in fact they feed off and give nothing back. One video keeps mentioning how they are part of “the “community helping to keep resources in the local area and pile money into it but then mentions they print their own money to use in “the community”. They obviously have an identity problem.

unfortunately Findhorn isn't what it used to be ..well same with everything in this dying age...Pity !!!
