christian exactly. Everyone wants to make up an excuse to complain about something or win "oppression points". It's like why can't we call out when something is really wrong with society and not just every little thing that might just offend someone. People used to actually save time to complain about the important things. Now people just trivialize every little thing, it's so annoying.

I love how "Twitter would explode" has become a relevant argument for talking a show down.
@Lee-fw5bd
@Lee-fw5bd 5 жыл бұрын
They weren't really talking it down. They were presented with the question of how the show would stand up today and responded in kind. Twitter allows direct access to showrunners and networks (democracy/capitalism at work ya know) so Twitter blowing up can easily affect a shows longevity.
@MF-nl5zd
@MF-nl5zd 5 жыл бұрын
@@Lee-fw5bd Have you ever seen The Big Bang Theory, Two and a half Men(i mean the earlier seasons) or South Park? These are series that have an abundance of racist/sexist jokes/characters in them AND twitter seems to not care that much for the last 10 years. Some snowflakes (I am liberal myself, but some people are exaggerating it) don't get, that there are people outside of their filter bubble which are fine with such a humor. Not every show has to be for everyone.
@Lee-fw5bd
@Lee-fw5bd 5 жыл бұрын
@@MF-nl5zd I think you misunderstood my position. I wasn't insinuating anything outside of what I said, Twitter allows access to creators and thus if the show isn't viewed well by the audience, it will likely be scrapped. I wasn't bringing politics into this. Hell, I don't even think the kids were in the wrong at all in the Fine Bros video. I don't blame PC culture or them being snowflakes for their criticism/dislike of Seinfeld as they just didn't find the jokes funny (because ya know, comedy is subjective, Seinfeld was a response to a sitcom/family television environment that the current generation wasn't in, etc) and when you don't find an edgy joke funny, you're likely to take it seriously and look maybe a layer to deep. Kind of like if you don't like rhetorical heavy speeches, you're likely to not factor in the rhetoric and take the speaker at their word. I agree with you, hell, It's Always Sunny is a way more edgy show that was very popular and it wasn't subject to really any backlash. Same with Community and the Office, so I really don't think the reactors are overly sensitive or anything, they just didn't find Seinfeld funny. Honestly I don't even believe there is a PC culture and it's just something that the right cooked up to demonize the youth that are to the left who want media to maybe not promote messages that are harmful to people (radical idea, right).

I'm gay, and if I was pursuing someone I was interested in who I knew was also gay and they mistook me for being a straight person, I'd want to make that correction. Theres nothing inherently offensive about not wanting to be labeled with the sexuality you don't identify with. Also having gay friends doesn't mean you have to get offended for them. You don't get to decide what is and isn't offensive for minorities that you're not a part of.

Seinfeld absolutely holds up and is still hilarious to this day. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of the most popular TV shows today and one of the most long running. The creator of It's Always Sunny Rob McElhenney openly said he was inspired by Seinfeld, he even called the show "Seinfeld on crack". The stuff that Sunny does is even more over the top than Seinfeld. The whole joke of Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny is that they are egotistical people who do terrible things and should not be looked up to. It is clear that these kids don't understand anything about comedy.

READY TO GLARE ikr or South Park (one of my favorite shows) but there is literally an episode where cartman dresses up as hitler and tricks the whole town to round up Jews to a concentration camp they would loose it 😂

I was literally writing this when I read your comments... Everyone would be fired from Seinfeld? What about It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Same principle of being sociopaths creating shock value for comedy, I think it's the PC police and humor that went over their heads.

@@cluckendip I mean, IDK about that. There's a difference between making a strawman that you can be offended for, and then your human sympathy for smeone being insulted, mocked or wronged. Calling someone out on being a biggot isn't being an SJW if it is real. This is silly of course, since the show itself is calling the characters biggots and ignorant, these guys ARE overreacting, but to say that you can't be offended just because a slur or something like that isn't being used on YOU or YOUR race or whatever? Seems a bit apathetic to me.
