Another great build. I saw the video of the shop walk around, and it was very interesting. Next, I would like to see a video that takes a closer look at the people doing the work, I'm curious about the talent that can produce a work of art like that.

I'm still smitten with the Old School Bronco... sigh ....but one of the things I haven't seen demonstrated was comparing the differences between stock and these "new" slightly modded restorations. What do you gain? What do you lose? And insight Jonathan?
@DickinsonLivingInDickinsonNort6 жыл бұрын
I have seen different year Landcruisers for sale in the Dallas area where you bought this one, and they are often so pampered that they don't even need a full restoration, mostly just an engine overhaul if you are really worried about it. I imagine that you paid about $15K for this one in Texas. From all the work that you did, all the new parts, and the amount of time that it took, I would guess that you had another $100K into it, before you turned it over to the new owner. It is nice that someone thinks so highly of this year Landcruiser that they were willing to spend at least $115K to get one that was restored and improved, but like you said, it will only go about 80 mph because it has the original engine, and it looks like you have to get out and lock the front wheels by hand to use the four wheel drive. The real usefulness and fun of these old Landcruisers is their off road ability and not having to worry about slight body damage and interior damage. But the cost and quality of this restoration makes this almost a showroom car. For all I know, the new owner already has a 2018 Landcruiser that will go about 140 mph, which they can drive on the interstate, or beat up off road, and just get a new one in 2019.

Lovely looking Cruiser. My favourite Land Cruisers have always been the FJ55, the FJ60, and the FJ62. The FJ62 was the last of the old-school Land Cruisers. This just how a restoration *should* be. Nothing that wasn't used in the original TLC should be used in the restoration.
