The Fingerslayer Blade is one of Elden Rings most mysterious Items, so its only fitting that it is indeed Holding A MASSIVE Secret! Please sit back, relax and enjoy as we delve into some Elden Ring Lore Speculation!!!!!
We also talk on the channel about more of Elden rings lore for example: The Zamor Hero's, The Zamor ruins, Shabri , Hyetta, Irina, roundtable knight vyke,vyke the dragonspear, elden rings fell god, elden ring giant lore, fire giant lore, elden rings biggest secrets, The eternal city, edgar and the madness around the curse of the world being shattered, I also try not to stray away from fromsoftwares other games, I love them all so much, if you would like to see more lore feel free to check out the playlist link bellow explaining the lore of fromsoftwares games.

Most of the events of Elden Ring and due to the of Queen Marika the Eternal and her Demi-god offspring's, Ranni, Rykard, Radhn,
Godwyn the golden, Malenia and her scarlet rot and Miquella the unalloyed/ saint Trina,
its also theorized that Melina is the gloam eyed queen an emperyan like Ranni, Miquella an Melania.
To give you a more in-depth look at the content we do look at elden ring DLC, Elden ring dlc lore, elden ring dlc news, elden ring dlc leak, Elden ring dlc explained, elden ring, elden ring lore explained, elden ring story explained, elden ring explained, elden ring lore, Elden Ring Secrets, Elden Ring Analysis, Elden Ring Theories, Elden Ring Story Breakdown, Everything You Missed In The Elden Ring DLC Trailer ~ Linked Worlds, Demi-Gods And More, Elden Ring DLC Trailer, messmer the impaler elden ring, Elden ring miquella dlc lore.
Elden Ring is set in a dark fantasy world called the "Lands Between." The world was created by the Elden Ring, a powerful object that has been shattered, leading to chaos and turmoil. Players assume the role of the "Tarnished," a character who has been exiled and embarks on a quest to restore the Elden Ring and bring order to the world.
The game features a diverse cast of characters, including gods, giants, dragons, and other mysterious beings, each with their own motives and agendas.
Elden Ring is known for its intentionally cryptic and enigmatic storytelling style, where much of the lore is left open to interpretation and speculation. Players need to piece together clues, engage in speculative discussions with the community, and make their own interpretations to fully understand the lore of Elden Ring and its intricacies.
Elden Ring is also an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration; it features elements similar to those found in other games developed by FromSoftware, such as the Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that players start with a linear opening but eventually progress to freely explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the open world map. These main areas are interconnected through a central hub that players can access later in the game's progression-similar to Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls-and are explorable using the character's mount as the main mode of transport, although a fast travel system is an available option.

Finger Slayer Blade wasn't necessarily made from a Child. Could've been from a Demi-God that suffered from the Genetic Malfunction that causes Dwarfism. And that was the Demi-God that they chose to make it from. Possibility that a requirement for Weapon making of this Nature is Suffering. Brings a Hellraiser aspect to it.

Could also be that Marrika actually had given birth to many more Children than what has been shown and or discussed. The 1's we battle are just the 1's that survived Birth. Stillborn, and Mirrika's very evidential Curse as shown with the deformities with most of her Kids.

I always figured the fingerslayer blade was a child, but that it was also a representation of the numen/nox losing their ability to birth, in order to gain the power against life itself. Like it was the sacrificing of all men, and that was last male child or something.

Less recorded more acknowledged, there were known elden lords before Godfrey but the followers of the greater will often act like nothing existed before them, starting the count anew with their first of something. Hence, Godfrey first elden lord and Godwyn first of the demigods to die, even though destined death was part of the eldenring during the age of the crucible likely allowing others to die before

I'm thinking, maybe it was a stillborn baby. Marika's firstborn, who actually died during or shortly after being born, perhaps becauce of the physical deformities, and that actually made Marika take out the death rune out of the elden ring. Then the Nox might have then simply graverob the infant corpse and make it into the blade.

I think the finger slayer blade is warped and blackened because it has a little piece of death in it. Just like the warped and cracked black knives. Evidenced by the curse mark of death appearing on ranni's fingers when we find them dead! So ranni literally copied their plan to kill a god and used it on godwyn and herself.

There were several demigods that died we don't know of. So Elden Ring has a lot of aspects taken from Norse mythology. Godwyn was the "first to fall" on the night of the black knives. He was likely also the favorite son, hence why everyone speaks of him when they mention the tragedy at all. Every Wandering Mausoleum holds a demigod that has died. The Mausoleum Soldier Ashes states as such. This means there were at least 7 demigods that died after Godwynn.

This is such a cool theory! I know this doesn't match the timeline in the video, but does anyone else think that it's possible that maybe the death of this child could have been Marika's motivation for starting the golden order in first place? Like, the "treason" label was given to it retroactively. It would be a really cool motivation for removing death from the world and why the night of the black knives broke her. He is your unwanted child” idk if this may be referring to godwyn, but i don’t think that he would be considered an unwanted child. In my opinion the "ghostflame" mentioned below the giant skeleton thing, isnt ghostflame at all. its just a blue flame, just watch the deathrite birds, watch the ghostflame torch, watch spells like ancient death rancour, or watch deaths poker abilites. NONE of these has blue in their color-scheme. All the ghostflame we can see in this game is pretty much a mixture of white/black/grey. My theory: the proximity to the grand cloister (the moonlit altar is connected with it underground) and the Nox obsession with creating their own god merged and they managed to create a god with similarities to the scorpion god, the dagger is also slightly curved and is said to have come from the tail of the scorpion god. The Nox used night sorceries so the colouring of the fingerslayer blade is dark and not orange like the scorpion dagger. I believed Marika slayed the created god, banished the Nox and took away their opportunity to make a god again by only having a false night sky. Unfortunately for her, she left the corpse with the Nox with which they could create the blade. Thank you for reading!

It's very hard for me to believe that the blue flame seen in Nokron is ghostflame. The hue is different, and it is specifically said that the Fallen Hawks had to acquire the ghostflame from the bones of their deceased comrades while spelunking in Nokron. It seems odd to me that, if they had consequently made it themselves, there would no mention or comparison to the flames of the eternal cities, even to comment on the twisted irony of their fate. Ghostflame also burns with sparks of black when used, and while purple fire may also be ghostflame according to an interpretation of the grave violet description, it still does not look similar to the flame found in the eternal cities regardless of them both being partly blue.

Great vid bro, I've always wondered who the Fingerslayer blade was. I think it was definitely a god, because we use the Elden Beast rememberance to get the sacred relic sword. Remember, Marika sealed away the rune of death within Maliketh but somehow, he had just a portion stolen... not the whole thing. And this happened after Maliketh defeated the Gloam-Eyed Queen in order to seal it away. If the Gloam-Eyed Queen was the god of death and keeper of the rune of death, maybe the FSB is her?!?! Plus, Melina says she was burned and bodyless... and in the Frenzy Flame ending the rune of death is unsealed and the Gloam-Eyed Queen is let loose once again upon the lands between. IDK... what I do know is this DLC is really going to be something special and I can't wait!!

I honestly thought that the Fingerslayer blade was made during the Night of the Black Knives after the killing of Godwyn; I assumed the misshapen blade is part of Godwyn's malformed body, after his assassination I figured they carved out a piece of his living body to create the blade as a means to create a weapon powerful enough to slay a 2 fingers, and aiding in the event was the treason committed by the Nox. I think that the main misconception of the blade is it being a dagger, but it very well could be a curved greatsword, but that honestly doesn't matter too much. I think that Ranni had to search out the blade after it's creation because after learning that Ranni deceived them, they hid the blade from her. An interesting theory I have is that Miquella may have been somewhat involved in the idea of the Night of the Black Knives intending to resurrect his brother from the very beginning, and Radahn holding the stars in place may have unknowingly assisted in this. Ranni and Miquella both seem to equally despise any involvement of the outer gods, and the eclipse will be pivotal. Just a conspiracy.

The nox were probably banished underground before the rise of the erdtree, godfrey, and the creation of the golden order. It mentions the greater will, instead of marika. Their buildings are roman inspired, meaning they are "pre medieval" designs like caria and the golden lineage. But most importantly, if we suppose the fingerslayer blade requires a demigod corpse, yet out of all demigods "godwyn was the first to die", it's more likely it's made from a demigod of a previous era. Much like the godskins for example, which killed gods and demigods and then skinned them, and they predated the golden order.
@briankay3146
@briankay3146 2 ай бұрын
Good theory on the source of the fingerslayer blade. High treason means that they were once part of marika's empire and they betrayed her. They were fellow numen who had a whole previous culture before the golden order and they resented marika and her new empire. For their treason, the eternal nox cities were buried underground which is an odd punishment but might have been because the golden order feared that weapon and just used gravity magic to make it happen. I find marika sympathetic. The golden order arose out of war with all factions so things were cut throat from the start. She was just motivated to create an order that would last forever and it lasted an incredibly long time but now at current time, everything is completely broken and the tarnished is now here to definitively end the age by any means necessary.

I am a strong believer in the "Fingerslayer blade is the God-consort of Placidusax" theory. From the context of the game, it is implied that the Eternal City was waging war against the Farum Azula Empire. The Eternal City created the Dragonkin Soldiers and developed blue frost dragon sorcery that imitates the red lightning from the ancient dragons. They also created Mimic Tears, which could potentially become the next "Lord"-possibly referring to an Elden Lord. The cut Asimi questline suggests that Mimic Tears can even become vessels for the Elden Ring. Additionally, they developed various magical weapons of war, such as puppet soldiers, living buildings like the walking mausoleums that can be equipped with artillery, floating weapons, and gargoyles made from corpse wax. I think the entity behind the blade might be the reason for the war between the Eternal Cities and the Farum Azula Empire. What I think is that they murdered the original Elden Ring host and Marika later replaced them.

It could be Marika, of course, but it does not look like her. Her original hairstyle with the signature dual braids is missing. Additionally, Marika became a god when she was an adult, as shown in the newest trailer. Why depict her with the Elden Ring when she was just a child and not yet the vessel for the Elden Ring? I would suggest that the smaller blade makes sense if the former god was a child, just as you mentioned earlier.

@@theemeraldgecko310 Another point supporting the murder theory is the comet that destroyed Farum Azula and the Nameless Eternal City. The game states that Astel was thought to be a punishment for a sin against the Greater Will. Meanwhile, the Fingerslayer Blade is said to be proof of treason committed by the Eternal City. The original Elden Ring teaser states that the Elden Ring commands the very stars. What I think happened is that the cities murdered the child god. Without a god to control the stars, Astel fell from the sky, hitting Farum Azula and destroying the Eternal City. Plad and the other Dragons go full crisis mode form the shield against commets and summon the Storm to keep Farum in the air without the power of the Elden Ring.

I actually think the Eternal City came before the Erd Tree era. I also think that Marika was originally a member of the Noxian royal family. We know the Nox are derived from the Numen and they hate Marika. Why? My theory is the Gloam-Eyed Queen was the ruler of the Eternal City and she was the elder sister or mother of Marika and was the vessel of the Outer God of Death. Marika wanted to over throw the GEQ and the Greater Will tempted Marika with the power to overthrow the GEQ. The GW gave her Maliketh who removed the GEQ's power by sealing away Destined Death and Marika struck down the GEQ and seized her power to create the Elden Ring and form the Golden Order. Since the GEQ's power was founded on Death, Marika shut down Death with the Ring to forestall revenge. But then Ranni sided with Noxians to recover part of the rune and overthrow Marika, continuing the cycle of revenge and ambition. Ranni after all, is her parent's daughter.

I always thought Marika shattered the Elden Ring out of desperation. In the Lands Between, the stars command fate and the most influencial star is ofcourse the Elden Ring itself. By removing Destined Death, Marika believed she could avoid the death of herself and her loved ones. However, when death came for her son, she tried to destroy the very concept of fate by shattering the Elden Ring. Supporting this idea is the fact that Marika clearly has some prophetic abilities. She foresaw the return of the Tarnished, the burning of the Erdtree, and other events. Melina recites many of Marika’s prophecies when we visit her churches. For example, in the last cutscene, Melina clearly recites the prophecy of Melina’s own death and our quest to obtain Destined Death. I think Marika foresaw the death of her children and initially tried to prevent it by removing Destined Death. When that failed, she attempted to destroy the very concept of preordination by shattering the Elden Ring, which failed after Radagon partially repaired the Elden Ring once again and sealing the Erdtree from outsiders.

@@monroerobbins7551 Marika refers to her children as "beloved," indicating at least some empathy for them. She doesn't say she will sacrifice them but that they will be sacrificed if they do not become a god or lord. This implies that it might generally be outside her power to protect them, and they will have to fend for themselves. When she openly tells them to take her position as both lord and god, she likely does not expect to live much longer, given that the shattering should theoretically kill her, as seen with her body falling apart while she smashes the Elden Ring. My point is that the quote is probably meant to be a message to her children: "Listen, I will not be here much longer, so you need to be strong and fight for yourselves. I cannot help you anymore. Understand?" Again, I think Marika shattered the Elden Ring to avoid literal fate. She foresaw the Tarnished rising, killing her children, burning down her tree, and destroying everything she worked for. She thought that by shattering the Elden Ring, she could kill herself and disrupt the certainty of the prophesied destiny she saw.

I actually think infanticide plays a huge part in Elden Ring (and ASOIAF), and i agree with you there. I wonder, do you think the curved spine could have something to do with the Albinaurics (which is why they are lacking functioning legs), such as through cloning? I tend to think Radagon came to Rennala to perfect his/Marika's rebirthing rituals and perhaps that connection is what he was after.
@austingoranson6116

It’s an interesting theory, though I feel it stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of the established lore. I feel that Marika is not against “deformed” children being public knowledge as there is no evidence to suggest that Malenia and Miquella were kept secret because of their own “deformities.” Morgot and Mohg were kept secret because of their ties to the Age of the Crucible, not simply because they were deformed. Additionally, I think it’s well implied that the transgression of Nokron was the slaying of Godwyn as it is well known that the Black Knives are Nox. Also, since Ranni carved the Cursemark of Death into her Two Fingers, it is further implied that the Finger Slayer Blade holds the power of Death, and the only corpse it would make sense to grant this power to a blade would be Godwyn’s

So here's a wild theory. Perhaps the treason was against the Gloam-Eyed Queen, and the "seduction and the betrayal" that Miquella speaks of is Marika's seduction and betrayal of the GEQ. Perhaps the "affair" he speaks of is Marika pulling from her Radagon playbook of seducing Renalla, resulting in the birth of another Empyrean child: Ranni. Following this theory, perhaps the infant empyrean was the child of the GEQ and Marika/Radagon, and the strands we see Marika pulling from the cloth in the story trailer are from the womb of the GEQ, resulting in a malformed corpse of a not-fully-formed empyrean child from which the Finger Slayer Blade was created. We know the GEQ was the leader of the Godskin Apostles, who she cradled as newborns in swaddling cloth, so we at least know she was motherly if not a mother herself. And the cloth that Marika pulls the strands from in the story trailer clearly look like godskin robes, given the texture, color, and stitching. The portrait of the pregnant woman in the trailer also sticks out in my mind with this theory as well. When I saw the trailer the first time I immediately thought Marika was puling something from that woman's womb (I like the serpent theory but I don't put stock in it). Maybe this is what led Marika to pluck the rune of death from the Elden Ring when forming the Golden Order, so the same tactic couldn't be used against her and her children, and it may be what led her to try to destroy the Elden Ring following the death of Godwin when she realized her order was not impervious to Destined Death after all, despite her precautions to the contrary.

Why does the Fingerslayer blade look like two fingers crossed together. In some cultures, two crossed fingers means a broken promise. That's what I always interpreted the blade as, a promise broken by the Nox.

Okay I might be crazy for saying this. Correct me if I oversee something. But hear me out. - The Fingerslayer Blade is (presumably) made out of an infant fetish of a demigod, or at least way smaller/younger demigod than Radagon for example. - It led to the global villainization of an entire race. - Said demigod must've been a beloved child of Marika. (Since she seemingly had no problem with locking up Mohg and Morgott.= - Said Demigod was somewhat crippled or... *Afflicted*. - And it's found *absent of grace.* - It's capable of harming the Greater Will and its Vassals. Am I crazy or am I not the only one who feels like this is screaming Miquella? After all, he divested himself of his flesh, of his grace, and all things golden in order to enter the land of shadow. And we find this transformed body capable in absence of grace. Capable of doing what Miquella was trying to achieve this whole time. Interfering the meddling of the outer gods. Miquella was beloved by many, so if there was a justice system of sorts, everyone would go haywire on the Nox for harming Miquella. It's also worth mentioning that Gideon mentions that someone cut the cocoon of Miquella open and abducted his "Infant Form". And the guy we see in Mohg's cocoon might not even be Miquella because that guy do be looking kinda big and old. Which might be to fool the masses and believe that Miquella was still in the cocoon. And given that Gideon implies that someone took Miquella out of the Cocoon and not capturing the Cocoon with him, and in Mohgwyn Palace we find the entire cocoon might be another indication that the person we see in the cocoon might not even be Miquella. But anyway, I think I'm leaning myself too far out of the window by now. But those are the thoughts I get from watching this video. Thanks for reading I guess. Have a nice day. Lol

Maybe it was used with the physical remains of Miquella, or at least a part of them, but at the same time, it would be weird, because it means that Miquella being taken would’ve been from before the war between Farum Azula and the Nox. That would mean that Miquella would’ve planted and watered the Haligtree, bound himself to it, then have his body tampered with, then somehow his body was swapped with another person’s before Mohg took the swapped person, and the Nox made the blade, and then a war broke out. That’s a lot happening, and for no one to realize the cocoon was opened, or realize that “yo, Miquella’s looking hella weird, what’s up with that”, it feels like there’s a lot of coincidence. It’s not that I don’t see your points, it just feels like there’s one or two key events that need to be clarified before that’s the case. If Gideon knows, that means someone else had to have seen it, since Gideon doesn’t do his own footwork, and that the spy would’ve seen that Miquella was gone or tampered with, and not raised the alarm, which seems weird to not be concerned about someone so well-beloved.

For ghostflame, I've been interested in a few ideas to draw parallels and maybe Wikipedia search "Flame Test" for some ideas. It may be of no use but just one of hundred saved bookmarks I think could be relevant but probably never end up reading 😂 I have been a little bothered about my understanding of this part of Ranni's questline. The Two Fingers she uses this to slay in particular have little outside of implied assumptions to work on, where did they come from, where they hers for certain,which half of the cursemark did she carve into it, who if anyhing got the other half, was it even a hallowbrand or did I misperceive it. Her ending leads to the most butchery though. She cuts people off from all truth of their formation, and them abandons them to be ignorant in a power vacuum... All that there ever will be is constant warring of arbitrary factions and chaos, which is exactly what she wants. She is far from the only one pointing out issues, the Greater Will is pointing out more issues than she is. But its concerning that we don't know what she plans do in this star cruise she goes on or why she does it, and we don't know why she needs to sacrifice the lands between in order to do it. We can only see her actions as benefiting in some way in the stars off the losses of the people in the lands between to fuel whatever she is up to. She is absolutely top tier sus....

@@gainsofglory6414 Ranni represents deism (the order far beyond our reach so it won't affect us and we won't interfere with it) whereas the Golden Order represents theism (the order meddling with peoples' lives and causing destruction and suffering and it being corrupted). Ranni and Goldmask's endings are different approaches to the same underlying remedy. Ranni speaks of her own fear, doubt and loneliness but she has her Tarnished consort to face it with. Ranni sacrificed everything. She is not heartless. Her "amorality" is not in any doubt.

@@fleetstreet11 going with such labels, only one thing can be true, deism or theism. Not sure why you label theism with negative terms, but the true one would be the desired one, not the false one. The Greater Will created individuals and souls. Thus, Ranni cutting people off from their shaper for her own purposes is deceitful and wrong because its true. She is forcing people into ignorance and ripping their ability at free will away from them. So any deism approach would be a false deism or a false order. It would be arbitrary unlike the Greater Will. And Ranni doesn't offer deism, she subjects people to the stars and to their own vices and to be controlled by whichever arbitrary faction conquers them. It would be an arbitrary false deism, cut off from truth, and governed by the u fetted wills of men and the strongest arbitrary powers. Also, Ranni sacrifices nothing. She uses others as her sacrifices. She was instrumental in killing innocent Godwyn so she could take advantage of his death and escape her body. She tosses Blaidd, leaves Iji out and dry. She just uses and manipulates people for her own own motives to fuel her own plan for ascension. She turns the lands between into a prison of carnal ignorance on her way out to make room for her own power. Now, there are like 30 things there that are dependent on interpretation and also what we want to be true as there is no set in stone true story in the game. They make it open ended. So both of our takes can be argued to be valid at the same time. Thats why the game is fun.
