The Firebird gets a different Engine! But has some oil pressure issues that take some time to Fix.

In this video I finally get my 79 Firebird back together but the engine has a weird oil problem. The pressure would be great then start to drop off until I restarted the car and it would come back to normal. So I diagnosed the low oil pressure as a problem with the pump but when I got the pan off I found the problem. Dirt was clogging the pick up tube and when I shut it off the debris would come off the screen and it would be back to normal.

It's back up and running just took it for a long drive and it's fixed! Tires are getting burned off in Cassville WI. at the end of the month.

the car sounds really good . fuel gauge not hooked up? GMC steering wheel? 😆

Fuel gauge does work just reads over full with a full tank and I wanted tilt wheel before the hot rod power tour this year so i put that steering column in and never changed the wheel yet.
