This is not a great projector, with native 24fps, which none of the KZbin reviews mentioned, and 4K upscaling from a 1080p native chip. Horrible in-person experience. I bought it based on KZbin reviews but was never satisfied with its fake frame rate. The inbuilt Android TV has very poor remote response, taking 2-3 seconds. Not worth $1500. Hope this makes your decision a little bit better.

I got this since launch last year. I worked hard to tell all my issues, with a French friend, a polish friend and Xgimi has solved all our issues. MOTION compensation was updated. Issues with Jutter fixed. Color update. HDMI update, and issues with the UI. We ranted to Xgimi and they solved all the things we cried about. I'm very happy with this after updates and calibration. It's not my main but for my 3rd setup it's awesome. I like it, at the start maybe not, but I'm a thorn on anyone's back. Companies listen. Maybe update your shit

The Dual Light Array for 3D is pretty epic its not all dimmed down like other projectors maybe that makes it less trash. Wait it does.

I 100% agree as I too bought one of these and sent it back within a week. The game mode has the hottest colors I have ever seen. Once in game mode adjustments are more or less locked out. Looks like total crap. If you use the digital trim to match the screen there is a ton of light bleed from where it was trimmed. My entire back wall is felt and it still lit up the room in a very bad way. This is for causal use in the living room and by no means does it compare to dedicated home theater projectors.

Problem is most projectors don't have a long zoom 1.6x, (projector sits 16 foot away) instead they have pewny 1.2x zoom. I like that the XGIMI has 1.6x zoom like my Epson 2250. ====== streamer=Apple Music lossless

Shane, in my experience with the Nexigo Aurora pro, dolby vision bright vs dv dark are not for bright and dark rooms. Bright seems to be more like "normal" mode where dark is ultra contrast mode. I believe dark uses CMv4.0 while bright uses CMv2.9, where not all movies are mastered in CMv4.0. Even though it is supposed to be backwards compatible, some moves seem to have far to much black crush in DV dark. Generally DV dark can look much better with the correct movie however

A lot of people misunderstand what CMV stands for. This is Content Mapping, not color grading. The DV analysis and trims are done after the initial HDR grading to match different deliveries. DV Dark is the correct and accurate choice in cinema viewing experience, DV Bright is just adapting the overall brightbess to lit environments and that's it.

@DamianWayne-sr6nv I'm certainly always interested to learn more and be corrected when wrong. Is there a good site to read into this further? It may just be an issue with the nexigo aurora pro, but there are definitely movies that are unwatchable in DV dark with too much black crush and blown out highlights

@@t-rex1480This is probably an issue on how your projector is dealing with DV metadatas. On HDR10 content does it also behave this way ? Projection & HDR is always complicated. Dark mode is the default, untouched way of watching DV HDR content. You can learn more about Dolby Vision Reading the manuals available on the professional support.

@DamianWayne-sr6nv Hdr can have a little black crush, but nothing near DV dark. Nexigo has addressed the issue and informing us they have no control over DV so any changes would need to come from Dolby. They did correct some edid settings that helped with some things but they said was the extent of what they could do

@@t-rex1480 In the meantime you should disable DV and only let the HDR10 metadatas if possible. For the black crush it could come from the gamma target set top high when the projector was calibrated. Maybe it is also too far away from your screen and is not able to display the correct reference luminance. HDR in projection is hell. Dolby Cinemas are set at 108nits. The best way would be to use madvr with a 100 to 200nit max tone mapping for HDR content and calibrate your projector luminance in that level in a SDR mode.

Looks like your firmware is not up to date. The latest one is V3.12.246. The menu setting looks different on the old firmware. I own this projector and I’m very impressed with it’s sharpness and how it appears brighter than it should be. Before this, I owned the Epson 5050ub and I find this projector much brighter and it’s super quiet too. I gave up on the Epson due to the lamp replacements. Lamp quality had been inconsistent. The only weakness of this Xgimi projector is the black level. Xgimi is coming out with the new horizon max later this year.

Probably soon most using multiple light sources like IMAX etc. Tickle down tech and it's only logical. This is dual. MAX is triple.

Best bang for your buck projector. Other than black levels. This hangs with the np5 and ls12000. Nice to see something you can buy saving up some SPARE CHANGE.

Hello I am planning to buy this , but had a bad experience with Lazer projectors from LG and Hisense, on the wall, there were showing some Kind of Lazer waves on white and light colors, as it is a Lazer and led technology did you face anything with the wall ? And one more is this eARC HDMI is 2.1 ? And is it possible to get Dolby Atmos through Dolby digital plus codec if it is connects with a PC to the projector with a Sound bar on a HDMi audio output ?

It's in Chinese registration only and most can't get Chinese app download. Rendering just display, then most projectors early now have Asian text lock. Good luck android bypassing it for a review.

nice work shane lee for all info exploring regarding home theater i need some info regarding av receivers can i use my old Marantz av receiver as power amp because its has 7.1 multi channel input of rca so i can use my new av receiver pre-out rca to old av receiver 7.1 multi channel input so for my bad English

Didn't liked it at all, I had to return it. The contrast is AWFUL, it doesnt allow you to watch a whole movie your eyes will get tired within the first couple of hours.

I’ve had my eyes on this projector! The only thing I’m iffy about is the lack of Dolby Atmos support. Are there any firmware updates for that? Or can Atmos be achieved through a receiver/passthrough?
