Me too man. I gave my 7yr old son and my 12 yr old daughter a huge hug and kiss yesterday. Never know when its your time. Breaks my heart that my son will never be able to listen to future episodes of Comicstorian with Benny's voice narration. My son didnt quite understand why Ive been so choked up the past few days. Youd be amazed how many people this man touched. Just do a search for Benny Potter.. brings a tear every time I come across a new one.

The first time I heard of the Comicstorian, it was when he was a guest on the "Kraven's Last Hunt" Back Issues, and I remember thinking "Who is this...interesting man?" The first time I met him in person, I stumbled upon him at Keystone Comic-Con. My brother was there, so that was a fun shared experience. The last time I talked to him face-to-face was either New York Comic-Con 2021 or 2022. Both of us were talking about the Hickman-less era of X-Men. Thinking on it now, I wish I had to told him how loved he was. This was before he started on his journey, but I also would have wanted to tell him how welcome he was in the One Piece community. How comforting it was that he was there in my feed every day. I just hope he knew just how loved he was. Rest well, Benny. As Oda-sensei said to Toriyama: I hope Heaven is just as pleasant as the one you saw in Dragon Ball.

Telling stories, as Benny did with his voice, becoming a spokesperson for critical thought, which means, sometimes, checking the sources, to avoid talking rubbish, and have a sense of humor when you learn that behind this incredible medium of expression, which is comics, there are human beings who can always make mistakes, exchange their opinions and laugh about it. Many of us wouldn't have embarked on our own journey, discovered a favorite book, or simply had a fun time without Benny. We will never forget him.

When i was young they always referred to entertainers as talking to you in your living room. Now days you are so much more you are the voices that prepare us for a long day at work, the stress relief afterwards the stories that get us sleep. Through brilliant times you enhance us through dark times you make us smile and remind us how it feels to be young and full of wonder for these characters that we love, but we've also grown to love you. The passing of Benny has been a real gut punch and an unfortunate reminder at the fragility of life. When I got back into comics, your friend was one of the first channels I would regularly watch. I eventually made my home here, which was largely thanks to him. I’d like to thank the both of you for bringing comics to the people who needed to escape reality and explore other worlds for a time.
