When I took delivery, on my new Mustang Mach I, in Dec. of 1969 I discovered 1/2 a bushel basket of loose nuts, bolts and washers when I picked up the trunk mat. Curiosity caused me to pull the rear seats and rear carpet, where I found even more. I asked the final prep guy at the dealership if that was normal and he said that was a shift change car. The last guy working on that car emptied his apron, in the trunk, when the shift bell sounded. Quality goes in, before the name goes on !! FORD QUALITY.

I actually left my green Ferrari Matchbox in my mother's 1964 Maroon Grand Prix because my brother thought it was cool to smash all my matchbox cars with dad's mallet. But, dad traded in the 1964 Grand Prix on a 1969 Catalina. Many years later, I saw a Black 1964 Grand Prix in a Central Ohio bone yard. I checked it out for the memories … and I found my green matchbox Ferrari right where I hid it in that car.

I like the Frankinstang, color 69 Chevy Mediterranean Blue Something I used to do you will probably scod me for.. when it comes to spot welds, I always used a uinibit or step drill bit. just don't drill the second layer the same step. Leave the outside bigger than the inside, you can then weld from the backside without drilling holes in the new panel... Keep up the good work, you have a fan for life..lol

This is the way to do it. I question how I did this on a 1950 Bel-air to a 1985 Caprice. All done in my back yard, 2 cherry pickers, some steel scaffolding and a little determination. I manage to get the body within 1/8" of being perfectly square and even. This has to be one of the coolest builds I've seen in quite some time. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Frankenstang is perfect! And I love that you decided wide body, can't go wrong there.

My dad had a 1971 Ford Torino 351 2V Cleveland which he put 300,000 miles on it. He drove every where with that car. never one break down through all the times we traveled in that car. You know why his car never broke down is because my dad took care of it. Fix the problem before it happens. Changing the oil on time. My dad grew up on a farm which my grandpa taught my dad to check the oil before you drive it.

Cool find on the little T-bird. Must have been a Ford family. Speaking of finding cash in cars. I guess I had my lucky Moment. About 20 years ago I was buying cars from the police impounds in GA. I bought a 88 Mercury Tracer for $65. Now the rules for the auction was you're buying them AS IS Where is. Including all of the contents. They usually came with a bunch of trash inside. So i decided to clean it out a few days later. When i lifted the back seat tucked up behind the back seat i found a roll of $100 dollar bills. 8 of them to be exact. And something else i won't mention here. Thanks police Impound! Free car Friday!

I used to pull 1985-1991 Grand Am consoles out at the junkyards. Each was good for $20+ in change. The e brake lever was the entrance to Narnia. Never found more than $150 in money though. I have found other valuables though.

Great job, Scott! Of course you knew that. You always have that look of confidence on your face. But, what the heck, if something's too short weld it bigger; if too big, cut more off. LISTEN, we're all glad it's you. I can't even hate FORD as much any more because of the artistry in what you are doing. Anyway... Will the end product have to go through a DMV inspection process? Thanks for the support. I plan everything a few steps ahead so it is easy to be confident. Usually even problems were accounted for. I give Ford a hard time but the 65 was a good looking car and I honestly like the 2015, in terms of power and ride. So I’ll have the best of both cars. It will be titled as a 1965. No inspections, no emissions.

Wide body kit will make the '65 nie 2015 look nice. Chunky rear end (don't go there!), lower to the ground, with a growl to it - the Frankenstang could be appearing on another website 😎. Bullet Green would look nice. And, yes, pushing it is consider a Ford drive. Looking forward to next edition.

If only you could drill out spot welds as fast as what the video showed. Imagine how much quicker the project would progress. You know, you shouldn't be using your nice panel-beating hammer to hit the seam splitter. The hammer won't like it. Then of course, Mr Spotty ended up in the pile. Hopefully, he extracted himself from the rust. (It's not only Fords that have rust!). Did you notice that B is for Build got another Mustang and now they are going along similar lines to what you are doing, but rebuilding the front end with tubing, as it took a big hit in the front. I always look forward to Saturday morning here in Australia, as that's when your video gets posted (our time). Looking forward to seeing more progress in the next video, or whatever you happen to be working on next week. Always interesting, no matter what project you are working on. You have a unique presentation style that's the best (no music).

@@vehcor The way the world is now, it's anyone's guess as to what the outcome will be. We are not so bad here in Australia, but what I see happening in other countries (on TV) is alarming. If everyone just followed the rules, we could eliminate COVID-19 like New Zealand did, but they did get new infections from international travellers entering the country. Stay safe there and keep the videos coming. It's always something to look forward to on Saturday morning. You almost started to mention possible colors for FrankenStang. My last Mustang was a 1967 Shelby GT350. It had crash damage to the passenger rear quarter starting right at the back of the door. The rear end was pushed back and the rear frame torque box was ripped off of the floor. Even the top of the rear quarter was pushed in a bit, but the rear window wasn't damaged. It took quite a while to repair the crash damage, but when it was repainted it's original Candy Apple Red the car looked like it was brand new. So, 67 Ford Candy Apple Red would be my color of choice for FrankenStang.

For that seam seal and also for heavy undercoating, I can totally recommend using a Fein Multimaster or something similar. Cuts through that stuff like hot knife through butter.

Is all that crap seam sealer? I was thinking "Scottstang" or "Scottystang", ya know that Frankenstein was the mad doctor that created the monster. I know a guy on KZbin that built his wife a car (think it's a 53 Chevy) and it's called Frankenbetty. 100k congrats! I tell you, I had to mave a mustang maybe 100 feet the other day and I felt like I needed a shower in bleach. I can only imagine what you feel like after working on two to build one 😂😂😂 Seriously though, this is coming along great and cant wait to see the finish result. My vote for color would be some kind of electric blue, something that pops but isn't too bright but not too dark at the same time, and maybe with some pearl white or silver stripes

Scott, just thinking out loud: if you could order a custom windscreen, would it be easier to slice the ‘65 body in two and widen it to suit the new model chassis? Fabricating filler pieces would be straightforward and adapting the hood frame with new fabric should be feasible too

My vote for a color would be Ford Kodiak Brown. It looks black but when the sun hits it the metallic really pops. The metallic will accent the lines of the car that usually gets washed out by bright color.
