To answer your question about fresh bedding, I remember Oprah has said this a few times way back when. She has fresh bedding every other day as a compromise, because the second day is almost as good (having a large enough bed to move to a "fresh" spot), but it's half the environmental impact as having fresh bedding every day.

In the autumn I always go and collect chestnuts, beechnut burrs, acors and pinecones. Then I put them everywhere in the house. Like a little overly excited squirrel. Then i collect awesome looking leaves, press them in books, and when they're dry and flat I hang them up in strings.

That reminds me in highschool my summer drink was a java chip frappuccino and my winter drink was a white chocolate mocha with a pump of peppermint. 15 years later my taste buds are so different, I can't stand the sweeter drinks. I hate changing my bedding! Washing and drying it takes an eternity, then putting the sheet on is a major palaver ( double bed, I am short with short arms and legs!) and I now just use the duvet cover as a sheet and pile on blankets as the duvet was always twisting around in the cover, as I move around a lot while I sleep!
