Oh man, this is exciting. I have owned two Student Edition (SE) guitars and they both have a special place in my heart. 1. 2003 Tremonti SE. I upgraded all the hardware and installed Het Set pickups. I recently gave it to a friend so he could have guitar happiness during a rough time in his life. 2. First run Mark Holcomb SE. I have also upgraded the tuners and nut, but nothing else. The "wide thin" neck is currently my favorite neck profile, and the Alpha & Omega pickups, while spicy, sound great. I hope your CE works out quite well.

When it comes to traditional style trems, PRS has by far the most stable in my opinion. It shows that Paul is still very involved with any instrument that bears his name and design.
