The video overblows it a bit but there's no way she would've actually destroyed Terra, it was just a different path to reaching the end goal of the blood games. The point of the Blood Games is for the Custodian assigned to accomplish it to try to assassinate the Emperor by any means possible while the rest stop them, so that the Custodes can root out any vulnerabilities and better defend the Emperor and his Imperium. Seeing as killing Big E would roundly destroy Terra no matter how it's done, any truly successful Blood Games run would destroy the Imperium. Thankfully that's never happened, either because the plan failed (like it did here) or because the Custodian in question didn't take the shot that theoretically may have killed the Emperor.

To be entirely fair there are plenty of Custodes who would have been EXTREMELY pissed that a random mortal undid their whole complicated plan. Hell Colquan probably would’ve tried to run him through or done similar to her considering his temperament and contempt for baseline humanity. All custodians are their own unique individual, and considering the audacity of her plan I think such anger fits what little I know of her. Might even be a relatively new edition to the Custodes and be ashamed that a mortal foiled her first blood games attempt.

By them adding this woman into the custodies like this destroys the whole premise of the sisters of silence as well as the sisters of battle. These women earn their place in the history of 40K, a perfect example, the sisters of battle have been told they cannot be corrupted while the space Marines have. When a sister of battle speaks in a room for a space Marines and primarks, everyone goes silent because she speaks with a purpose that can change the tide of worlds. The sisters of silence work so diligently to get the respect and seen as an equal by the custodies to a point that they said it themselves to them. And now you took that all away just to have a woman on there though. What was the point? Give me a primark then that's a woman. Also, you're already destroying the Lord.

Not really because the Lore of how custodes and space marine are build. Custodes : Human that is modified geneticly to Perfection. Like there is not really a restriction to who can became one. (Why The first Custodes has no female mainly because they are Noble son (because they are usually heir of the family) from Terra Warlord and that is loyal and adversary to the emporer. Like offering a symbol of loyalty to emperor. ) Space Marine : Human Augmented Super Soldier with gene seed according to the primarch. (Cant make Female space marine unless there is female primarch with female gene seed, maybe the missing 2 or Fabius Bile shit).

No. Unlike the Custodians, there is no room for females. They've tried before. The Emperor gave it a shot and gave up immediately. The only one who's been successful is Bile, and that's because it's fucking Bile. The Geneseed is incompatible with female anatomy. That's just how it is. There is absolutely nothing stating that the Custodian process doesn't work on females.

There won't be. Unlike the Astartes, the Custodians actually have enough blank space that female Custodians are possible. The reason Female Astartes aren't possible is because Geneseed explodes them. Custodes don't use Geneseed and are altered from infancy. Also, it took ten years of the writers asking to make female Custodes for it to finally happen. They apparently wanted female Custodians to be a thing since day one.

I understand people are angry, but the Custodians are really the only faction where the change is valid and doesn't majorly break the lore. The Custodian creation process is vastly different to that of the Astartes, and because it's so different and doesn't use geneseed, I'm more surprised that people haven't questioned the possibility sooner. It's always been possible. Doesn't make the implementation any less stupid, but the fact of the matter is that it's not going to change anything.

It is a retcon when 1- Previous Codexes, including the 9th edition one, and Black Library books state that the Custodes were taken from *sons* of Terran nobles. Meanwhile, other factions from quite early on were full of mixed gender presence, including the inquisition, officio assasinorum, ecclesiarchy, mechanicum, and the imperial guard. If indeed having females was the plan all along GW would have inserted them much sooner, not waited a decade. Add to this the fact that when the tabletop models rolled out no plans were made to include female designs or even female heads, which is an implicit admission of intention 3- Because of points 1 and 2, to pretend that this move is not motivated by modern-day politics is extremely disingenuous. You can like this change, you can if you want buy into the explanation of custodes being modified on a molecular level so regardless females can participate and survive the process compared to space Marines that are pumped full of androgynous hormones. But don't pretend this is not a retcon.

@@tinyHIPPOclips Custodians are not Space Marines. Custodians don't use Geneseed and were made before the Space Marines were and only really have ten years of real lore. Their previous 30 years of lore doesn't exist and what does exist explains that Custodians back during the day were literally just weaker Space Marines. The Custodian creation process is completely different to the Space Marine creation process.

When I first understood how Custodians were made, it occurred to me the Emperor could have made females Custodian. Due to the fact Custodian are not implanted with any artificial organs but had their genetic rewritten to perfection. I am curious if after the Horus Heresy the Custodians took females to replace their losses quickly. Otherwise I can’t think of a reason to recruit them.

The reason no female marines or custodians is due to high levels of testosterone in the units the emperor requested for his shock troops like that’s a reason not much fucking since only war and you the emperor didn’t want genetic enhanced females being used as breeding sacs if they are ever captured or decide to betray and spawn their own offspring army to challenge the imperial areas…..I mean look at what chaos space marines do to get more units of astartes when they can’t convert loyalists since you need someone from normal space as a medium to use for warp incursions cause demons can’t manifest due to low warp corruption areas in normal space; also look up demonculaba its canon 😢

The thing is, they aren’t strapped for recruits. The custodes maintain 10,000 exactly because they don’t need to grow. They are the emperor’s bodyguards, not an army on crusade.

After the Heresy least 1,000 custodians were left standing and we know how hard they are to replace. So perhaps after Valdor left the next Captain General open the gate to replenish quickly.
