There are many things here that are not Wing Chun - the vast majority to be sure. I am sure many of them have trained in a studio, but I agree that there is a sad air of following other styles when it comes to competition in this video. Cheers.

Probably because WIng Chun is just a style of Chinese kick boxing. People box and/or wrestle. After that there are only styles and concepts.

lols...i saw it live and it wasn't really skill based. It was more about just charging at each other (like american football) regardless of landing a hit on the oppponent or taking a hit yourself, perhaps because the fighters were too heavily covered up/protected...in any case, the only wing chun i saw was the starting pose...there were more muay thai based attacks in the fights than wc

from what I know there is no wing tsun hook punches, and punches do not come out of the ribs but of the chest. Interestingly, these championships to release such undereducated people on the mat. Masters of the correspondence course, books and CD recordings. Hard truth.

are you seriously saying that Duncan Leung is a "bad teacher"..hes one of the worlds most respected in WC...Steve Falkner was his top student & best fighter...yet you also comment that the teachers are bad..maybe you just arnt aware of what is "good"...haha..truth is..WC is shit...even in this tornament...all the WC men use high kicks, hooks, uppercuts, thai clinch knees, mma takedowns...none of which are WC..even WC fighters know that WC only works on idiots, drunks & you..

If Duncan was a good teacher he would have good fighters, obviously something was wrong with the concepts he was teaching. Faulkner is kind of tall and lanky I'm not certain why he even thought Wing Chun was an appropriate style for his body type. Alan Orr sure seems to make it work, but then he wasn't obsessed with "sifu" and "tradition" but rather with what actually worked in a fight.

Muay Thai doesn't focus as much on the center. Wing Chun is just a Chinese style of kickboxing that focuses on attacking down the center while Muay Thai plays the angles.

This is why wing chun fights are only theories, when under pressure in a real right all their technics are out the window and they just start brawling, wing chun= pathetic! Go learn a real art that actually can help you defend yourselves like Muay Thai, boxing, MMA, etc. They're not about flashy moves like ip man movie but good ol fashion nasty ass whipping
