I’ve seen this short film several times, never has there been dialogue or explanation to the aliens motives’, no indication of “warning us” or “hindering us”. It was my impression that they’d actually rescued him and returned him home.

@@DanielAppleton-lr9eq So is this a channel you're speaking of? A channel managed by M. Scott Zicree? I'll definitely check it out. And like you, I'm an absolutely MASSIVE Star Trek fan!! Some of those fan films...I appreciate the effort it takes to create one of those but (obviously) so many of them just aren't up to snuff...I'm also a huge fan of the "Alien" series (clearly there are some stinkers there too - I actually didn't even bother with those Alien/Predator crossover films - I couldn't bring myself to endure the inevitable disappointment. Over the past years, I must admit that while a lot of people didn't quite care for it, I absolutely LOVED the film "Prometheus"!! That film's scope was so incredibly gigantic that I just became utterly compelled by its plot and its twists and turns!! I suppose that in the end, I weigh Sci-Fi films in comparison to the greatest Science Fiction film ever created and my personal favourite all time film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Big shoes to fill, clearly but I still use it as a measuring stick for better or for worse. Thanks for the heads up on that channel! I'll definitely be checking it out.

The fakest thing about this movie is if an Alien Race had told humanity what it could or could not do, we would not listen to the warning and instead would find ways to continue and to protect ourselves from those Aliens. The script of this film is preposterous. We don't think FTL will be achievable in a foreseable future. But... But if an alien specie were to come to Earth and say : don't do that, otherwise... Then we should be wise and obedient ! A civilization capable of creating a Dyson Sphere could anihilate us with a snap of a finger. They ought to be considered by us as almighty gods.
