I’ve seen this short film several times, never has there been dialogue or explanation to the aliens motives’, no indication of “warning us” or “hindering us”. It was my impression that they’d actually rescued him and returned him home.

The fakest thing about this movie is if an Alien Race had told humanity what it could or could not do, we would not listen to the warning and instead would find ways to continue and to protect ourselves from those Aliens. Whether it’s successful is another question, but our mindset would be that they do not own the Universe and who are they to tell us what we can and cannot do.
