"Malaysian food" is not limited to any particular genre. It is a general term and consists of Indian, Malay, Chinese, Peranakan, etc cuisines. So regardless of which type you eat, they all fall under the category of Malaysian food. And the variety is practically limitless. The most popular Malaysian drink, which I am surprised the restaurant didn't recommend, is teh tarik. But then, all the staff employed by that restaurant are from India and not Malaysians, so you asked the wrong people. You can also try bandung. And the most popular Malaysian desert is cendol, pronounced as chendol. That Malaysian customer would have been the right person to ask.

Jaswant Singh@ the whole point of vlogging is to informed people of their experience.. but this guy ignorance is really jaw dropping.. i don't think he's ever heard of the term multiculturalism.. and you've done a good job of educating him.. i'm amazed by his lack of basic knowledge before entering a new country..
@JaswantSingh-ym9zo2 жыл бұрын
@@azharidris7092 You have to be fair to him. He is not from our part of the world, and this is probably his first time visiting Malaysia. At least we know his level of ignorance and can help him along. But I am somewhat disappointed that he failed to mention the name of his hotel and the place where he had his meal, which he should have done. From the size of the room it looks like a budget hotel. But it is not too difficult to find out as it is directly opposite the Swiss-Garden Hotel
@ethos-2 жыл бұрын
Nope thats not how you describe true meaning of Malaysian food. Only malay, sabah, sarawak and fusion like peranakan deemed as genuine malaysian food where food bring by diaspora is consider as international mixture. You can't claimed banana leaf rice as malaysian etc

Welcome to Malaysia Davud! You will fall in love with this country after experiencing 'Malaysian hospitality'. The food choices are variety here. You can try Malay, Chinese and Indian food. We also have Pakistani, Arab and Middle Eastern food. The food that you ate for lunch is 'Nasi Kandar', a very popular dish among Malaysians that can be found mostly in Indian Muslim restaurants in Malaysia. Looking forward to your next video.

Nasi Lemak is the most traditional food of Malaysia. While Nasi Kandar that you had is Indian Muslim - South India influenced. Nasi Kandar is usually more expensive compare to Malay food. The face mask that you bought from 7E is expensive because it's an exclusive brand designed by a local designer Jovian, who's the son-in-law of the current Prime Minister. You should just go for the basic surgical mask which is only abt 1.00 each. Enjoy your stay in KL and the rest of your travel in Malaysia. Hope KL is as homely as Baku.

Hi Davud, love your videos. Been following you since early this year. I enjoyed watching your travels to India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Welcome to Malaysia, my home country. Saw you had a good meal at an indian muslim restaurant. The meal you had is not the typical malaysian food. It is actually food originated from India. Suggest you ask around where to eat at a Malay restaurant. Then you will be able to taste real Malay food.

Mr Akhundzada, you are very kind. Hope you had a good trip in Malaysia. I wished the restaurant owner, where you tried your first Malaysian food, had not taken any money from you, a gesture that i respect what the Pakistanis would have done,in their Country, not take payment from a guest to the country, who is promoting the good name of their country. Instead, you were generous to give a tip. God bless you Mr Akhundzada and best wishes.

The problem with mamak restaurant is they tend to be fake mamak. They are not muslim, thus they are not mamak. Mamak restaurant have to be muslim worker. In malaysia we have local mamak which came from india years ago. They served almost same dish like this. That's why we malaysia love curry@indian dish because local india is hindu and muslim. When we call mamak, they are muslim.
