So this full weight CTSV with all the options still in tact, still rocking a 6 speed auto and IRS, with no crazy amount of money thrown into the suspension runs 9.1 at 150+ shortly after putting on the 2650. What has Guitarmagedon run with his LSX block, TH400, thousands in suspension, hole cut in his hood, and plenty of weight reduction run in his ZL1? If I remember correctly he hasn't run an 8 yet and if this setup was in a car like his with all the supporting modifications he's done it should run mid to low 8s easily. I've never felt like his car was setup by competent shops anyway.

He just set the record for a gen 6 zl1. But before that happened I was of the same opinion. I think it’s his smug attitude
@chesspiece815 жыл бұрын
@@ronmcbee4743 I am glad he set the 6th gen record but his 5th gen has never performed anywhere near what it should. Imagine if this CTSv had as much weigh reduction and quarter mile prep poured into it as his 5th gen does. It would easily be a mid 8 second car. His car has never done what it should and every video of his I have watched when he takes it to the track he seems to be taking open step forward and eight steps back. RPM swapped the supercharger out on this car, Fran tuned it, they went to the track and within 2 passes had enough data to leave the line hard and make a full pass. It left the line and made a full power pass without issue. The last video I watched of him racing his 5th gen he was having throttle body or MAF issues after he spent all that money on upgrading the suspension. His car makes the power on the dyno but has yet to put it down for 1320 feet.

@chesspiece815 жыл бұрын
@@ronmcbee4743 a CTSV or Kong 2650? Since this Caddy went a 9.1 I wonder if a 5th gen would be any faster and if so how much. Or if this setup was in a 5th gen with some weight reduction (not insane race car level weight reduction) a torque converter, suspension, and drag pack would run. How far in the 8s this setup could go. Personally I would love this setup in a no option hard top 4th gen SS Camaro with tubular suspension, coilovers, TH400, converter, 9" rear, lightweight brakes and a 15" drag pack. I had a 6 speed hard top SS 4th gen with manual seats, windows and locks no cruise. With only tubular K member control arms as the weight reduction and a Moser 9" and coilovers (not sure if lighter or heavier than stock shocks and springs) offsetting some of that weight loss but it was pretty damn light. I don't remember exactly the weight but with a TH400 it would probably be lighter than a T-56 but the LSA with the supercharger and heat exchanger and all would weigh more than the head and cam NA LS1 I had. I've seen the LSA supercharger under a 4th gen cowl with the K member spaced so it could fit. A 4th gen with this LSA, TH400, suspension and 9" should weigh less than 3500lbs 1000lbs less than this CTSv. So 7s shouldn't be difficult at all and while this is an optimized LSA build it isn't a ludicrous extreme setup so it doesn't seem like something that couldn't be driven a good bit and not be unbearable. Hell you could even keep AC and heat and have a 4L80E instead of a 400 and drive it anywhere. Damn, now I want another 4th gen to put a LSA in.

I ran some numbers that say the engine was making more than 1010hp, I’d say closer to 1200hp at the track. That was a fast mph for the ET so there’s more left in the ET if it can get hooked up and 60ft better, probably mid 8.8’s, but in the process the mph will likely be a bit less. It would seem odd but when the same car gets a better ET the mph will drop, because it had less time to build speed. This can be seen just in the two runs where he launched easy but still went 152+ and then the better ET it was just over 151.
