This is so interesting. We're hmong and my family practices shamanism and the way my grandpa became a shaman was exactly like how you described. Unfortunately he had passed last year but the odd thing was we don't actually know how he passed away. It could be because of age but our family thinks it could of been something spiritual. The day before he passed away, he kept wanting to take the strings around his wrists off and the IV. He kept saying that they tell him to take them off. He wasn't going insane or anything because he recognized us. When my sister asked him if he knew who she was, he said her name. What do you guys think?

The information on Shamanism was really interesting. Here in South Africa, we call Shamans Sangomas. Like with Shamans, Sangomas get "the calling" where they also get really sick and have visions. The only way to cure this spiritual sickness is to answer your calling.

Shamanism is also practiced in Indonesia, but it is rather discreet. Like you would not tell people that you go to a shaman, maybe only your family. It’s just something people go to like what you said, and it’s there before any religion reside in Indonesia. It sometimes come hand in hand with black magic practices. You might go for health reason, romantic, or even for some dark motive (re: k1lling someone)

Being a shaman sounds almost exactly like a sangoma. A sangoma is a tradional/spiritual healer here in South Africa and they communicate with ancestors, not necessarily gods. most of them get sick at first and things don't work out for them until they recognize their calling. The sangoma life chooses you

Ooh, we have something similiar to that too. You are like given powers to heal and if you dont accept it you will get sick. We call them "Tauip". I'm from Kazakhstan. But they dont get into politics😃 Never ever. Our politicians care only about themselves and no tauip can get near them😂😂😂

(Day 3 of requestinggg) Stephanie can you do a mukbang/bam/podcast episode about the true story behind the k drama the glory? There was a girl who had a very similar incident happen to her like the main character in the show. Also I’m so excited for the future vlogs with your bestfriend! Y’all’s energy is so cute and pure I’m just so happy for you 😄

Im going to study Criminal Justice, I still haven't decided what type 🙃 😅 Im 31, Ive been through a lot, I have studied before but my life situations haven't made it easy, I find some hope; Ive been watching true crime for some years now and...I found myself loving it in a way where I love learning and research for the goal of helping others, making a positive impact in the world even if It's one person at a time; one case at a time. Part of my motivation was Stephanie, her perseverance in life and in what she does, her videos and her family relationships, everything is so wholesome, you also see her True Crime side and her story telling; It's amazing how one person can make a difference; a positive one at that.🥰 Thank you for everything you do Stephanie and family! And I also hope it all goes well and I can make a positive impact in someone's life, just like you guys have done for me and many others. ❤ Good vibes to you always!

No matter what they say, we admire South Korea's First Lady for her advocate in animal rights. She campaigned to stop dog meat consumptions.

15:32 I don’t remember anything about homophobia. I just know that he claimed that foreigners were like leeches or something? And belittled homeless people.

Feng shui - I am not sure about it either - but I remembered my childhood best friend's mother was warned by an elderly woman, to stop the noise and the renovation of one part of their house (I am not sure which area), because it would bring sadness to the family. My friend who was six years old at that time and her aunt who were travelling by bus (long-distance travel in a province) died in a crash. She was the youngest and the only daughter of the four siblings. I still remember her to this day.

Please cover itaewon. I was there. Living in Korea it’s hard to find lots of English news. I have heard about most of what you’re saying. And yes I saw 700 police officers were relocated from itaewon for the president. As someone who was there it really saddens me.

I agree with you that religion should be kept separate from politics, but in the USA it is absolutely not! There has even been some debate as to whether a non-Christian could even be eligible to be president. While this question has more or less been settled in the affirmative, any and all serious candidates put their Christian faith front and center on the campaign trail.

The description of becoming a shaman is very true! In my culture (im not korean) if you don’t go through the path of being a shaman, you’ll get sick to the point where you’re bed risen!
