I miss this series. We need more professors at universities like you. And not like the one who taught me history of music back in the day. That one only managed to annihilate my interest in classical music for, like, two decades.

The range of frequency they could pick up is also why we have crooners and influenced a majority of music - doesn’t matter how beautiful your bass or high notes are if the microphone can’t pick it up.

No. The crooners were singing into ribbon mics that have excellent frequency range and is why the could sing with subtle dynamics.

Glenn, I LOVED this series and wish I could get more of it! Sadly, the almighty algorithm said no. Screw the algorithm! Make the rest of the series and upload it to the website for us all to watch at our own leisure. Hell, even if I had to pay $1 just to watch the series, that would be the one purchase I’d make that I wouldn’t regret.

Carbon mics really worked best on the phone, when narrow bandwidth would get you by. You have to start somewhere.
