I bought this camera 26.9.2022 so I’ve used this under one year so far. My first mirrorless camera. And it has been getting better and better all the time as I’m learning to use it better. I took some pictures of flying goshawk here in Finland yesterday and I couldn’t believe how good they turned out! The bird was too far away and it was snowing and cloudy and still the pictures turned out good. Amazing!

Have the E-M5 mk2. Been meaning to "upgrade" to a small mirrorless APSC but the more I dig, the more I find myself wanting to keep the Oly. I'm lucky to be in a position where budget isn't an issue, and for any price point, I still cannot find a worthy upgrade to the Oly. I either have to sacrifice for heavier lenses, lower class weather sealing, poor IBIS performance, etc. E-M5 is the perfect combination of everything

I honestly think it is the best looking camera from all the EM series. including the em5mk3...the plastic just REALLY REALLY puts me of. I wonder if a very very smart and experienced engineer could put the insides of the mk3 into the mk2.... most beautiful mirrorless m43 ever made. the em5mk2 edit: after watching the whole video....Robin I actually really really enjoyed this video a lot more than product reviews n such. such a human video where you spoke with some people and interacted :) loved it

My first EM was the EM10 Mk2 but I wasn't sure of the weather sealing. I had plans of going to what we call the Lake District, where it rains a lot. Boy, does it rain! So I got a second hand EM5 and a 17mm 1.8 lens. I was not disappointed at all. This combination is just impervious to rain. I spent a whole day out in the wind and the rain and just wiped it dry every time I got back in the car. I got some great shots in some pretty poor lighting conditions too. My EM10 is now with my daughter and I've graduated to the EM1 Mk2 and EM5 Mk2 for back-up. I still have the EM 5 and 17mm lens for fun. I just can't see myself living without it.

I don't know how you can call the EM5 plasticy. It's a magnesium alloy weather sealed body that weights the same as a Fuji X100V (with lens and not weather sealed). For a camera so small, it is built like a tank.

Reason I purchased this was for use with Konica vintage lenses, Nikon AIS, and AF-D lenses I use on my Nikon D200. I'm still using my EM5 that I bought new in 2014. I still love it and will miss it if it ever dies. Every now and then I think I might upgrade it but I never do. It's just passing G.A.S. lol. I usually end up with a lens or photography book or trip instead. The reality is that for what I shoot nowadays there's really nothing I'm lacking by still using my EM5 and I'm at the stage in my life where I'm trying to minimize my possessions and live more simply. I can only use one camera at a time and don't want to sell my EM5. I don't need or want ornament dust collectors and that goes for "spare" lenses too.

I'm not a photographer, but for rare occasions when I find time/will to go and shoot, I still have my original E-M5 with a 45mm F1.8, and really enjoying it every time. Really like that it is small and light, and waterproof (not with this lens, but still). Was thinking of upgrading to something newer, but as this is a hobby for me and the original works for me - didn't have to. But now waiting to see what they would do with OM-5 and would probably buy it when it would be out - would be nice to have the first version and to compare it to the latest one :) As always, thanks for the video - I almost never comment, but really enjoy your style and attitude, happy that things are better for you and you can enjoy street photography more now!

Still using my EM-5 which I bought in 2013. Do not understand the comment about it being' plasticy'.. it is a very solid and well built camera. It is beautifully designed and is an excellent camera for travelling with. The only minor criticism is its relatively limited dynamic range but what could one expect from a breakthrough in camera technology.? The relative lack of dynamic range is easily overcome by exposure bracketing. It will become a classic Olympus camera like the OM-1 and 2. Thx Robin for another great video.
