At the junction of Cooyar Creek and Brisbane River we pause for a while to talk to Dungibara decendant Steve Marsh, about the first peoples of the area, his family's story and his connection to Country. Follow our journey here: / 1101449276991614

Steve, thank you for telling your story ❤ I was crying with you there.. what an amazing story to hear about my favourite place on earth. The water on that land is a magnet on my soul. It's the only place that becomes the ONLY place when I'm there. For years I have wondered, what was there in the past, who was there?, how was it there? And to just hear your story, I'm forever grateful. Thank you!

Thanks brother for telling your story, the story of the country of your gg grandmother and of my grandmother Celia Smith, and her grandmother Annie Crow (also from Crows Nest). Nanna always went to Esk to catch turtles, I believe we were custodians of that area.

Do you know if this bushranger was ever named? Just curious if the story has any connection to a real historical person.

@@brisbaneriver-thewholejour2600 it was an local urban myth that I herd as an kid, what I have herd was he robed an coband co coach and liked his horse and took care of it lots, they both died in an flood after he got to drunk after an hold up ,its an urban myth I dont know any true facts apart from what I herd as an kid growing up near the junction of brisbane river and brema ,I have not found any supporting evidence of this apart from stories and that time I herd an horses clip clop on the river when I was fishing as an teenager
