*Note:* of all the historical dates given in this video, if by any chance you think it's strange or out of context or even impossible, know that in the archaeological context we find human occupation in the Iberian Peninsula as far back as 1.400.000 years ago (the Iberian Paleolithic), so all the dates in this video such as 20.000, 17.500, 7.500 ago are in fact only a fraction of time in the great span of human presence in the Iberian Peninsula. This is how far archaeology can go with physical evidences of human presence, so it might be even older. Here's a fun fact, this time not from Portugal but from Spain: The oldest known map in the world was carved on stone 14.000 years ago, and found in a carvern at Abauntz in the region of Navarra (Cueva de Abauntz).

1.4M years is not the date for humans(homo sapiens), it it hominids(pre humans and human-like primates). Humans are only about 350,000 years old

I now see the bibliography by the end of the video. Would be good though to get a list of which ones that deals with the continuous development from the Alvão "runes" via the Iberian scripts to the elder Futhark. Because that is the main key here to be able to follow these connections.

You should create a wikipedia page for this with your sources. There's no mention at all of Alvao Writing in any of the Runic pages or even in the Writing history page.

LOVE the video my friend! TRUTH is always so very nice to say the least! :) On the up and soon coming video's you speak of perhaps you should take a look in the mirror and say hmmm this red hair.... where does it begin.. because 30000 years ago give or take the first as we call them ginger genes appeared in 1 female, perhaps contact with another with another culture? Idk, but genetic code is like math, at the end of the day it does not speak to us lies, nor can it be denied. I myself have the genes that are extra vs the "normal" human, but to say normal this is not fair, I am speaking of myself after all as well as countless tens of millions. And this has a GREAT influence on all forms of culture. Especially since the first red headed person in Europe appears bang boom zoooooom out of no where about 30k years ago red headed peoples arise....and all of us adults know the work involved in such additions like so stated here. And as ALL men know, women have that magick of sorts over men, regardless of what age a person may be from that I am sure no one has had complaints of in ALL history. BUT I believe this addition would be a GREAT addition, for genetics seems oh so different from writing, but anyone whom so studies these things know such is FAR from the case. NOT to mention just having these genes should have more of a spotlight upon them for medical reasons. twice as much pain is felt by those among us with them and twice the pain killers and sedation medicine is needed for those with these genes as well. a science fact not many doctors are aware of. You will see what I mean when you... and I do VERY much HOPE you do look this up my dear friend. My agenda is truth, even if that truth causing us to rethink as well as be forced to change what was before thought to be the truth. If we cannot see where we have been on any journey we cannot and will not see where we are going, that is history's true lesson, and NEED. To allow us to repeat the good and avoid the BAD, most mistakes by us all happen from ignoring historical facts. To many today say "Oh history is boring, pointless, happened so long ago" Yet forget the pretty new laptop, Iphone or android phone such comment's are shared to the world with were made possible by that which we call history. Keep up your work my wise open minded, truth seeking brother... they eyes of the one that are opened can very well equal a chain reaction of thousands of eyes being opened.... And in irony that is yet another fact of ye ole history to the fans of it and those who still think it boring, well it will not lie to you, only opinion and long held belief will cause the bending of truth's as we hauamns so all very much like to place on something that needing changing the moment it began to happen. The "Bone war's" known so very well to Paleontology and history in ALL forms is the perfect and sad outcome.....but slowly over time not so quickly and brick wall to car at 70 kph lol :) I hope this sparks a spark for you as it did me, keep the truth coming, this world needs more like you. Wisdom and intelligence are nothing without truth in both. Even when I have my opinion's did not keep me watching, and your facts and evidence have always put me on the same page as you are on. This skill we NEED my friend,, and forgive me but I will post this twice, here and in main comments, just in case you get tired of the disagreeing parties ranting away, for this historical/genetic fact is important to anyone with :)

When I was at school (11-16year old) we had a great English teacher. I was sent to a catholic school and in an English lesson he was asked why is it called “spelling” (to make words from letters) that’s magic and that’s not Christian. His response always stuck with me: it’s the perfect word to describe what you’re doing, you take a letter and string it together to make a word, those words make sentences, paragraphs and books. Knowledge can be spread and translated bringing enlightenment or challenging concepts all through the art or putting letters together... now isn’t that a magical thing. 12 year old me.... mind blown 🤯 Loved the vid found it very enlightening and appreciate your position to keep politics out of truth 👍

RE: Spell (From Spellan : to speak) spell (n.1) Old English spell "story, saying, tale, history, narrative, fable; discourse, command," from Proto-Germanic *spellam (see spell (v.1)). Compare Old Saxon spel, Old Norse spjall, Old High German spel, Gothic spill "report, discourse, tale, fable, myth;" German Beispiel "example." From c. 1200 as "an utterance, something said, a statement, remark;" meaning "set of words with supposed magical or occult powers, incantation, charm" first recorded 1570s; hence any means or cause of enchantment. The term 'spell' is generally used for magical procedures which cause harm, or force people to do something against their will -- unlike charms for healing, protection, etc. ["Oxford Dictionary of English Folklore"]

6:30 - This is so interesting to me because as I was thinking about alphabets, runic alphabets, the section of time around the turning of the eras which some of them date back to, I was also having a conversation with myself about knowledge, history, false information, lack of information, and my own biases. I didn't expect to find a video that had a focus on those aspects of the thought process.

Great Arith! I have always had the feeling there was something missing about origin of Runes...the different order of Elder futhark runes and other futharks always let me wandering... Many years ago in my studies I came accross these Alvao simbols called celt-Iberian runes, but did not have enough historical infos to understand properly... The way you explain original runes in this video is for me a very good help to teach them in the way I have always felt. Thank you so much my friend, you give me the proof I had the right perception... Hope you will go deeper about this topic, it is for me very interesting and important, and also hope soon you will speak about the turkic/siberian runes... as we have been speaking lately.

Turkic tamgas/runes are certainly interesting, they are in their essence are symbols used by different clans and families to differentiate their cattle from others, and the tamgas have words associated with them like b¹ is read as eb and means home while b² is bur and means twist, the same is true for other consonants, wish he will make a video about them!

Arith, I really enjoy your videos. I think you bring to the academic world a spiritual understanding that a lot of scholars lack. As a student of history and archeology and amateur linguist, I like to conduct my own independent research. As a Germanic pagan who often uses runes in every day life, this subject is of particular interest to me, however, I cannot for the life of me seem to find any resources regarding these ancient runes. I have studied the symbols often called "proto-writing" by academics dating back over 40,000 years ago, but somehow the source material for these runes eludes me. I'm honestly not sure how I have gone this long without hearing of this. In short, any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated. Could you please link me some credible resources so that I may study these symbols some more on my own? Online resources or books are fine. I am just here to learn. Tusen takk in advance.

What a wonderful video - thank you so much, your teaching style is really great - I was spellbound ! I arrived here because I have been following Ancient history of all sorts, but primarily the story of the Welsh peoples, and I have learned so much about how the Western seaboard was the natural 'pathway' in ancient times, so that there was always a lot of trade & movement of peoples using the sea since travel overland was more difficult because of the heavily forested territory & also the difficulty of traveling thru multiple tribal areas. This knowledge of how writing of an actual language arose ties right in with the claims of the Welsh to their ancient roots & their written language, which is being re-discovered recently, as it had been deliberately removed from daily use by the English ruling class.

The thought of ancient civilizations long vanished gave me the idea of cross-referencing where those ancient civilizations could've been on the globe and where oil is absent. Oil should've been plentiful given how much life there was and how much time has passed? Or does it just disappear? It could help research their levels of advancement and tech progress. Wow, is time vast. It probably sounds very stupid and it most likely is, but it was worth a shot.

Hello Arith. Such a good video and valuable information. If i undetstood well, you say that the phoenician alfabet looked like a cuniform before it became alphabet? If thats true, is there a evidence of how the phoenician alphabet looked like (as an cuniform) before it got the design we know as alphabet? And also, what do you think of Vincha runic scripts found in Balkans that dates back to 6.000 to 7.000 years ago, same as the Alvao scripture?

You might find it interesting to know the gulf-stream that runs near the western coast of Scandinavia allowed ancient “Scandinavians” to dwell in at least two locations in present-day Norway during the last Ice Age. That's why Hel was worshiped, since the concept of Hel reflected the “hell” i.e. the rock/mountain (in Swedish, hell still means “surface of rock”, for example Helleberget which means Mountain of Hel, and the ancient phrase “hel och ren” which means “healthy and clean”.) Also, it should be noted tha caves in the mountains during Ice Age living conditions protected humans, and kept them “healed”. Hence the (in the minority) accepted theory (amongst a few Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish scholars) exist that the northern people of Hel gave its name to Hel-vetica, Hel-las, and Hel-ios (helios is Greek for the sun, a primary source of healing to any sane man or woman!) When the ice in ancient/northern Scandinavia melted, the people trapped behind the ice are believed to have migrated southwards (there are some etymological connections with the Basque culture, where a number of root words are shared with the ancient people of “Hel”. Finally, it should be noted that is not coincidence that placenames in Scandinavia still bear the old name of “mother earth” namely Hel-singborg, Hel-singland, Hel-sinki, and so on.

Draugablikk thank you for your comments. I wondered if the word Help may also come from this original meaning and perhaps meant saviour and this then may also add to the meaning of why the Sun would have been called Helios?

South east asia also has runic alphabets, here in the Philippines the most common is called Baybayin. My own tribe/ancestors(the Kapampangans) who are in a province called Pampanga have their own called Kulitan.

It was very useful thank you. So what was the original alphebet of the celts and germanic people then? Was it Ogham and then they adopted the runes?

Hi Arith, amazing video, nice job! I wonder how come I have't seen it before! However I would like to ask you what your opinion on Vinča culture would be and how it fits to the whole narrative. So far I found it plausible that Etruscan ,,writings,, originated more likely from Vinčan writings (since they are almost the same) than from Phoenician. I wonder because Vinča culture is suposed to be dated back to ca. 5500bc. I hope you could give me your thoughts on that aspect of the topic if possible, cheers!

would you have a chart to show the meaning of each one, I've searched google and the only ruins that come up are just Theban alphabet and i wanted an ancient one, doing a wooden oak dream catcher and wanted something old looking and meant a certain thing, just curious.

Absolutely mindblowing. I am studying the runes for two years now. Never found Information like that. But I knew from the first moment of contact with the runes, that they are much older as all the „experts“ said. I fell in deep love with the elder futhark and got it tattooed on my arm, because I felt an old, very old and powerful energy. I live in Germany and everybody knows the absolute absurd abuse by the nazis, what is hurting me deeply. I am so fucking glad that i found you, Arith, thank you for your amazing work!

I think of the entire video, I love that he quotes A Few Good Men. That's like Hollywood runic. Jack Nicholson being the oldest form of that Hollywood language. They call this teaching like a fat man caught in a barbed wire fence, there's a point here and a point there. I like the kid a lot, seriously this video was epic and I really did enjoy it thank you so much brother I subscribed and I liked and I will keep listening as often as you make videos.

I read that Norsemen imported it from the Etruscans (population of central italy, of probably no Indo-European descent). Etruscans imported it from the Greek Settlers of southern Italy (Kyme, Pithecusa) , that were using a western version of the standard Greek alphabet.
