If you've lived in NYC or LONG Island most of your life, you realize times have changed. Significant snows from mid-December on is not inevitable it is highly improbable. It has been years. We've learned, as Cowboys have, that "meat ain't meat until it's on the table." Put simply, anything outside of 24 hours is typically "wishcasting". The motto is "Warm and wet, cold and dry."

For me it was astronomy, I wanted so much to become a professional astronomer but my poor math skills killed that plan so I built my own observatory an became a advanced amateur and got my worked published with several collage astronomy departments,. That 'gap' over Massachusetts is caused by aerosol spraying by planes. They are trying to dry out this area as they have all summer long. There are patents that prove this nasty practice. Love your weather forecasting though and you have a bright future!
