The loud sound is made by the gradients when scanning. The bird chirping sound comes from the cold head when not scanning. The RF coils do not make any noise.

what i want to know is how does the phone not get sucked in when you walk in if the magnet is that strong? because i had to take out my helix pericing witch was only pierced 2 weeks before hand (as i didn’t know i was getting the scan untill 3 hours before, i was in the er) because they said it would get sucked in the machine from the moment i walked in the room

Magnetic field that could heat up metal or pull out of your body (for example why they ask if you have now or in the past ever had any metal in your eye) is only at its strongest when you’re on the table and machine is up and running. At least that’s what our X-ray tech told me

Why do im i scared of this sound i got scared of the mri machine when I were in one the. sounds sound like its straight from a horror movie 😱
