Get Rid of Back Pain and Sciatica - the First Thing You Need to Do. In this video, Sam Schroetke, DPT, teaches you the first thing you need to do in order to get your pain under control and to get you moving again.

Thank you for this clear explanation and demo of this technique. I’m dealing with acute lumbar pain that had me bedridden for 3 days; I’m on day 6 today and am up and about but moving slowly, and I want to do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening again (this is the third time in a year and a half).

Thank you Dr. I want to make sure this exercise and the follow-up to this one, the McKenzie Extensions, are what I need. I had been pain free for several years but I did a stupid thing recently- I lifted a moderately light object with my arms extended out in front of me as I attempted to pull it out from the hatch of my car. It resulted in a delayed onset of low back pain and it’s been three weeks since this incident; the pain is still there. Usually, it will linger for months before I get back to normal. I’m looking to decrease the length of pain by doing some exercises. Are these suitable for my kind of stress? Thank you for your videos.

Thank you for your comments. Do the extension in lying exercise. You may need to perform 10 reps every couple of hours for a few days before you notice a significant change.
