As a Citadel graduate, I approve this message. Honestly, I love the idea of them.

Ok here's a question. I try to network at the airport anytime I commercial operators or private turbines. But a lot of the times I'm there, I've been working on the plane and have my shop clothes on, or just finished a flight and I've been sweating my ass off and mussed hair. Right now I don't go introduce myself when I'm looking messy. Do you think that's the right call?

This comes off very elitist and really seems off brand for you. A lot of your videos really push inclusivity and I love it, but this isn’t that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect you for putting your opinion out so publicly and so often. But to say you would use someone’s appearance as a hiring decision seems odd.

This is the reality of not just the working environment but of people period. Clothing makes you standout amongst everyone else especially in a setting where everyone has the same qualifications. Interviewers most of the time don’t have a long standing relationship with applicants, therefore first impressions matter. Get the suit tailored, wear a good fragrance and take care of your skin along with grooming yourself. I appreciate the content as a student myself, I don’t comment often but I also don’t want you to get discouraged by comments like the one above. Keep dropping gems mate, your growth is inevitable!🫶🏾

Pilots who have beards and visible tattoos are also typically not acceptable in the commercial world. Elitist or not, you're not going to change people's expectations of the pilot community.
