Does anyone else think that Shannon looks like the actress Kate Hudson? Fun episode! I like how she was encouraging, fun to listen too and made the viewer seem like they could make things work beautifully in any situation. I was inspired!

I like to decorate for winter, rather than Christmas. We're more minimalist in terms of home decor, but I put out a few white, polar bear tealight holders, some greenery and/or pinecones, nuts in the shell and I have a burlap runner I like to put on top of an ivory tablecloth on my dining room table. I keep it up until winter is over and things just look a little bit more cozy for a few months. I also love to put on spiced cider fall through winter whenever we entertain or just feel like it, and I bake a lot more in winter too - so the house smells amazing with all those spicey aromas in the air.

❤ I recently cleaned out the kitchen island and cabinets to fit my new Caraway pots - great reason! I gave away some pots and dishes immediately for FREE at work on the break room table since I have never used them. I gave myself Sunday to deep clean in the kitchen (although I didn’t finish the whole room) and put away jars left on the counter, organized hot drink condiments into a container in the cabinet rather than on the counter and put a few cloth bags hanging in the pantry of larger items rather than stuffed into baking dishes in the cabinet. I love to clean up clutter! 😊

I so love this! I bullied my husband into buying this house because our rental was snake infested with a newborn baby in tow. I had to get out of there. This old house is nearly 130 years old and we could afford it. He came along and I have loved this place since then. He still hates it but it has served us so well. We paid it off years ago and have done some fun fixes and upgrades. She's a pretty little shack and she's ours. We'll be moving on to something else someday soon but I will forever miss this house. It was home.

😂 I keep seasonal clothes for everyone in the attic when not in season for wearing, taking them down at the start of a season to switch out closet/drawer clothes. But every person has their own bins so since they were 5 years old I’ve let them decide what to keep, switch, clean and put away. I had all my children starting at 5 years old make their own lunch for school the night before school, be in charge of organizing their bedroom/toys/books/clothes and develop routines that work for how they want to live. Now in their 20’s I’m impressed how organized and independent they are in their lives. When they visit I clean up like they’re guests, but see them pitching in to care for the pets, water plants and empty the dishwasher. 😂

Nice video. I live in a very small cabin. Moved here from a larger place and brought all my stuff, so working on declutterring. Oh reminded me of gratitude for your space. Also you did a very nice message about Azure Standard. Presented in a way that is understandable to those who are new to Azure type buying. Like a drop etc. I love Azure Standard!

We went from 1100sq ft to a bit under 300sq ft. We are constantly staying on top of extras. We do a 1 in 1 out mindset. If we get new shirts or towels, however many we get that are new, that many old ones have to go. We never want to go back to "big".

Margaret Matheny on KZbin, mounted a big framed art piece and mounted it to hang over her t.v. it's brilliant, way better than a picture on the t.v. or the frame t.v. I miss not having a t.v. in my living room! We did buy a projector, and it actually works best projected to a white wall than a screen, it's also a mini projector, not huge, and we link blue tooth speakers for it, it's our Theatre room, and office, because the projector is so small, when it's off, it's like there's no t.v. at all, it's great! Good episode, im also decluttering, and decorations always feel lile clutter to me, so I'm decorating less and less.

Hey Lisa, I use some red in my blue bedroom. My walls are white, but I have a Williamsburg blue settee, and blue pillows, but I just used some red and light blue balls on my white trees in there. I used some blue and red on shelves, etc. It was inexpensive to add in some red along with some blue. Just buy the balls...they are the cheapest way to make it work! It's hard to change out colors. I, however, have so much stuff, I can do any color tree! But I am organized with it. Lots of totes...but we have a massive storeroom! I designed our forever home, and I added that in! its 20x18. I love it! It has my food storage and my massive amount of decor. I do need to declutter some, but I do it all the time to try and keep some stuff under control. I need Cass from Clutter Bug! 😄

For those that mount their tv, you can hang tapestry art over it. Im sure there are tutorials on KZbin or Pinterest, as I’ve seen it done before.

One thing people do wrong when decorating is putting pictures on every wall. Just like in your garden, your eyes need to rest. When you fill every wall, you don't see the beauty of the pictures hanging. Some walls are okay to have nothing, and a lot of us put too small of a picture hanging and add even smaller ones. It's not a good look on a large wall. The size of images for the space is critical.

Caution I’ve heard that if you usb art into your tv and leave it up too long it will imprint the pixels onto the screen and damage your tv. I’m not sure if that’s true but look into it!

None of this advice works when you live with a hoarder husband who refuses to let you get rid of anything. He even pitches a fit when I get rid of the kids' toys and clothes when they outgrow them. The best I can do is try to organize it all. I didn't realize I was marrying a hoarder. And now I'm living one of my worst nightmares. Clutter is my mortal enemy.

You need to get him therapy before it becomes too late. Hoarding is a mental illness and you also deserve to be comfortable in your home. Ask him his reasons why things need to stay. Personally, let him throw his fit. Put things in a storage unit then together, go through what is in there, deciding what is truly important. . If you are in charge of keeping the home, you’ve been very flexible so far, he needs to be flexible now as well. It’s called compromise.

@@kays1774How about donating a few things a week. Just SLOWLY SLOWLY going through things and leaving empty bins in the same spot so he doesn’t fill them. In other words instead of walking into a room and it’s all declutterd and clean, he’ll know you got rid of his or the kids stuff. But if you do it a little at a time no one will really notice. It may take months maybe even a year but it would be worth it. Also start with your own stuff. I wish you well!❤
