Roger’s real parents died and he was adapted. I think that is why he has two last names. His birth name and his adaptive father’s name although i don’t recall which is which.

@@amarasunflower6914 - Roger's real last name, from his father, is McKenzie; his mother's uncle took care of him when he became an orphan, and the uncle's last name was Wakefield. So Roger would answer to that name too.

@@SjofnBM1989 buuut Roger is currently searching for his father in the 1740s. Roger's father was reportedly killed in action in WWII but his body was never found. Roger was given his father's dog tags in the 1740s, which a military person would never willingly give up unless they were forced, desperate, or dead.

How did she go from history to engineering?

Brianna only went into history because of Frank, but became disillusioned with it once Claire told her that Frank was not her biological father. She is seen sketching plans in her history course once they return from Scotland, and she is unhappy with her courses. She takes time off from Harvard and moves out of the family home, both against Claire's wishes, and later enrolls at MIT because she is more into engineering.
