In the books, when Ian comes back Ian tells them how the Mohawk believe in time travel. They tell Ian because Ian has a bit of a grasp on it and a belief. That’s the only reason why they tell him. Fergus never believed in this yet have a clue about it. He may think she was crazy if she told him that. Same with Marsali....look at how quick she was to ask her if she was a witch when Claire brought her in and showed her the autopsy she was performing.

I always thought that Jenny wouldn't understand and would end up having some kind of innate bias toward Claire if she found out, but she would be smart enough to know that it would explain everything and smart enough to understand why to keep it secret. I feel like it'd be a fun internal struggle for her character to go through because at the end of the day, she regards Claire like a sister, would help protect her if for Jaime's sake, but maybe wouldn't quite be able to come to terms with the truth. Chance to see more layers to Claire and Jenny's relationship develop.

Great point. Their belief in fairies does open them up to the possibility of something magical. The fact that there was a well-known song that describes the event is proof that Highlanders would accept it. The only reason not to divulge to most people would be for safety reasons.

right? at this point i think they can deal with that info perfectly fine, specially marsali who is dealing with learning medical info that didn't even exist in that time and adapts just fine. besides if they all know there could be some conversations about how things are in the future etc, i think that could be interesting too, they could even show them the photos of brianna (unless they have been lost in the shipwreck) .

The story of Otter Tooth is one of the most tragic and haunting in the series. And Claire meeting him in rain in the forest was Ghost Story level, and one of my favorites. I've never watched the tv show. But I wanted to see how they dealt with this.

@@speedytypermananswers5551 I agree with you 100% I normally don't watch violent content but I decided to hang in there but during the rape and torture scene with poor Jamie which I fast forwarded just to get past it but I could still see what was happening, I stuck with it until Claire boarded the English ship to care for the crew with Typhoid it was then that I gave it up and removed it from my que when Claire once again put Jamie's life in danger due to her refusal to listen to him when he begged her not to go with the young captain but her duty as a doctor called and off she went, I stopped watching right then and there. Oh and the scene when Jamie offered to sleep with the guy in exchange for him agreeing to watch over his son in his absence really did a head job on me, I loved Jamie, remained constantly annoyed with Claire, I guess you can say I had a love hate thing for this movie.

The only really false note so far is the big house. It is supposed to be on the ridge in the woods. AND keeps the logs would be hand hewn , not huge few small windows.(glass panes each taxed) no porch all around. It's a modern house they show. The white sow lived under the house too

I adore this series...I know there is only one season left in STARZ plans, but I hope they go further. The actors selected could not have better Dianna Gabaldon’s characters in the Outlander series. Even for those who watch the programs, the books are still worth the read. No one does sexual descriptions like DGabaldon, who used class not trash in difficult scenes. I knew what was coming at the end of season 5, but it spurred me to give back to the book to review before episode, and was glad to be prepared. I didn’t know the actors playing Roger and Ian, but now, I cannot see anyone else in the roles.

Loved this scene. And I agree Fergus and Marsali should know. I also find it very interesting that Outlander fans have seasons they didn't like it versus others. I think we all love season 1, but some really didn't like 3, I liked 3 a lot. Some didn't like the France story line, but I liked that as well. Imo, something got lost as they stationed in the Colonies, seasons 4-5 don't compare well to 1-3. But I'm curious to know if fans prefer 5 to 4 or vice versa.

In the Moonlight, understandable about France. Yes 4-5 had several hit and miss episodes, very choppy and out of place. Hopefully with season 6 things improve.

Some viewers just wanted the romantic stuff. BUT this story is about them facing life's hard cruelties and building their life together. And they didn't have near the money to live on that it seems. He's still paying damn laoghaire alimony.. it's basically a barter economy then. Whiskey paid for almost everything.( Whiskey Rebellion)

I don't know if anyone remembers but Ian had said when he came back that he had been married and he had a wife and a child but they were gone he never said they were dead he just said they were gone and if you remember back that's the same thing that Jamie said to Lord Grey... he said to Jamie "your dead wife..." and Jamie said I never said she was dead I just said she was gone! So I think his wife and child were also Time Travelers now that would be cool

Yes! I was wondering, could that be the girl in season 1 ep. 1 who goes back to pick up her jewelry after that ritual dance scene that Claire and Frank was secretly watching from a distance... I know, that was in Scotland, but still ... She could have made her way to America somehow.... 🤔😁

I had wondered the same thing about Young Ian's time with the Mohawk, wondered if he met a time traveler and if she might have been with the group that ottertooth and the guy in s5 that asked Claire if the name ringo Starr meant anything to her. He goes on to explain that he came with a group of Native Americans to tell the Mohawk about their fate as a tribe. If you look closely at the Native American sitting on 5he bench reading the paper whilec2 small children are running around playing, he's ottertooth.
