Did a similar thing when I was about 11. My sister and I used to always use the same pitcher (only pitcher we had) for making koolaid back in the day. One day, around the holidays, it was full, so we started drinking it. I thought she made it, she thought I made it, and we slammed that whole thing down between us. Turns out it was the leftover punchbowl from the parents' work xmas party the night before. Absolutely loaded with alcohol. They found us on the floor in the kitchen, drooling and mumbling incoherently, and *that* is when we learned that neither of us actually made it, and nobody thought to say "don't drink the suspicious koolaid" to us.

Now I'm remembering how the adults never seemed to get how leaving all the 'non-alchoholic' cider out over the winter...ended up well...with drunk children in the spring. Oops. Admittedly it was probably pretty weak, but most kids are... ah, pretty light weights. Shocking, I know. Wayyyy to innocent of a story. But sweet none the less. Some punch and cookies, cute. Mine was less innocent and more intentional and then I realized (at a fairly young age) I only get stumbly if I drink, my mental state stays intact no matter how much I drink. And for whatever reason, I don't consider that I good or bad thing, it is just a thing. So I will never understand the goal of getting drunk or the fun of it.
