Ringo is what the term "late bloomer" is all about. Understanding all the health obstacles and his recoveries make one appreciate him more. Another fantastic characteristic is his unselfishness and love for his mother. I recall that the late Elvis Presley was so fond of his mother that he bought her a house in addition to so many other generous gifts. Ringo has proven his abilities and talents and understands the question posed by many interviewers which is the trademark of success- "What have you done lately?" All real fans know that he has blossomed with "The All Star Band", his newer releases, "Ringo Rama" and his book "Photograph". His wife Barbara Bach and his children are truly blessed. "Peace and love" special one !

I used to be heavy into dancing growing up, but just as one reveals a sculpture by removing stone instead of adding, I eventually turned my dancing into primarily a type of drumming, forgetting about looking cool and what not, it’s all about the rhythm even though I would still consider it dancing. Drumming I’d say is the worlds #1 meditation and there isn’t any higher spiritual pursuit than that, considering you’re kept alive by the little drum in your chest. Drummers have got to be the coolest people on the planet in my book, and the funnest hobby one could have. Eventually it’s not even about drumming with music, but with life, your life is the song that you drum to on the way to your grave.

I would say that Ringo Starr has come a long way in terms of being able to make it out of poverty, conquer alcoholism, write songs, play drums, and last but not least become a great human being. Also, I'm grateful that he is still alive and well. Best wishes to him.
