I designed this as more of a "successor" than an "upgrade" to the first mainly because green smelting just wouldn't fit nicely. It's possible to upgrade but you might have to get creative with the placement to do so! If you're building the 8.8k version with Chromoss, refer to their tutorial for the main bulk of the build, or make sure to check the inventories of each container when building from the schematic! Also, it was just brought to my attention that the carpet on top of powdered snow trick was fixed, so make sure to use water instead when you build this!

@@bossa98765 pretty sure in one of the latest snapshots they changed hoppers to where they won't try to pick up entities at all if a block is above, unlike before. Could be wrong about the details but that was my understanding of it

for some reason, i would like to see the SMALLEST POSSIBLE all dye farm you could actually make. like it doesnt matter if you get like 1 dye per 1 hour, just as long as it infinitely produces all dyes automatically. how small could you make it? that could be a cool challenge.

That could be fun! It would likely involve a lot of compromises though. The smaller it is, the worse rates will be really. You'd be pretty limited by the bone meal, automatic crafting, and black dye I'd think, so much that it probably wouldn't be worthwhile in the end. But could be fun to explore!

Im sad about 1.21. It added the crafter, but didnt add a automatic version of smithing table, i mean a automatic form to make trimmed armors or netherite. And maybe some miners to get diamond, netherite gold and emerald. So we could make it automatic.

I once made a 2x7x1 self sustaining pink dye farm. There was a single warped vine, under a a piston which only let it grow during a few ticks per second, and which, if an item dropped from it, only had a chance to end up in a composter that would then bonemeal a pink petal.

This build has got me thinking about how some dyes are obtained: -Black Dye from Squids or Withers, why can’t we turn charcoal into black dye? (But I guess unless we are given an easier method of farming logs, a wither rose farm would still be the best option for farming black dye) -Being able to combine Yellow and Blue to craft Green would be cool considering how most dye crafts are based off paint colour mixing -A tall flower version of Cornflowers (likely Hydrangea) would allow for all three primary colours to be given tall flower varieties

@@typemasters2871 I would guess its more universal, since finding a flower biome with the two needed colours adjacent to a relativley easy to spawn proof river is maybe too rare or too much rng reliant. But since I already have a squid farm I will build the farm without the wither rose thing and just put black dye in manually, since I'm totally on your side that I personally like a squid farm more than a wither cage in my basement xD

I have built myself a tall cactus farm. I put bamboo farm underneath the cactus farm, to feed into the furnace under it. It’s got 30 bamboo pieces going into a double furnace set up. The cactus farm I 9x9 size, with collection in the middle going straight down below into the furnaces

Maybe you could enhance it by adding a system to automatically craft every dyeable item/block (glass, wool, terracotta, concrete, beds, banners... and more). The player would only need to provide the default colored item in bulk in one double chest/shulker/barrel, and with the press of a button, it would automatically turn into the desired colored item. After witnessing your skills in building this incredible machine, I truly believe you can make it happen. :)

I modified the farm a little with snow golem system so you can get stacks of wither roses without the need to build hoglin farm or 2 dimensional farm , also added 2 Universal flowers farm connected to a big bonemeal farm Pushing your farm to it's limits

@@potato_noir by using a snow farm to get alot of snow then using 3 dispensers 1 will place pumpkins and 2 will use shears to remove them Using carpet bot it can spam place to snow blocks allowing dispenser to place pumpkin so snow golem can spawn and another 2 dispensers to shear it so you can recycle using the pumpkins you can't recycle snow from dead snow golems cause it will overflow the system on wither roses so they fall on 2 hoppers with sorting comparator and they die from blast damage of wither allowing only wither roses to be collected and snow balls will br destroyed running this for some time will supply loads of wither roses as snow golems just spawns constantly by the player stacked on the killing chamber

knowing myself, as the only non-primary colors that I use (like ever) are lime, cyan and gray, I can just craft those up with an autocrafter when I have to get some. I had my custom 2 tall flower farm cell design back in the day in 1.14, that still works perfectly, and converts any bonemeal put into it into flowers, only issue with it is an unlocked hopper I guess, as I was building it to fit into a specific size constraint back than, and I kind of didn't have a way to snake a redstone line to one of the hoppers. Than again, it is small, and cells work individually, meaning you can just put bonemeal into the input of whichever one you want to run, and it'll run. green and brown are the 2 biggeest pains in my opinion, as those are both useful for detailing, yet are either a massive pain to grow (brown), or have an additional step of having to smelt them (green) Also, having black dye production on location is a really nice feature here, I have a wither rose farm design I like that relies on being in the end, as it's a natural perimeter, where I can have extreme rates for endermen spawning. And than there's blue... I don't use it much as a building block coloring, nor for any other purposes beside crafting cyan ever so often, but plains biome based farms for it can work really nicely, provided you fnd a good spot, where the flower map of the area is a continous layer of cornflowers. Not the easiest to do, and a ton of seeds will be present as well, but insanely high rates are more than possible. They just needslightly different item pickup systems than what you had here, if you want to minimize time loss between the actual bonemealing of the grass, to make it as fast as possible. The fastest design for flower farms like this that I've seen so far just kept pushing the grass blocks horizontally to harvest whatever is on top of them, and ever so often, push a layer of glass blocks on top, to have the items glitch up a block, than pull those glass blocks back, to have the items glitch through the pistons as well, directly into a waterstream.

One thing you could probably add to this farm that I added in my flower farm: I added a seed detection system for the sorter that takes seeds and turns them into bonemeal. This bonemeal then circles back to the cornflower and oxeye daisy bonemeal collection as serves to pretty much maintain itself. With this method, you can pretty much just leave the cornflower and oxeye daisy farm on without having the others on and this bonemeal strategy maintains itself.

I'm not a hopper expert by any means, but my understanding is that the block allows the hopper to skip calculations for both detecting any inventory above (which composters above has to do) and also free entity pickup in the area above the hopper. Nico is lost made a great chart of the process and that was what I was basing that off of. Haven't delved deep into the code though

@@zacomit3055 there shouldn't be any issues with the chunkoader in multiplayer, but it would allow you to build the portal closer to the farm instead of world height if you didn't have the portal at the bottom of the world

How did you manage to create a schematic in the snapshot version? I'm not able to get any mod to work with the latest snapshot since forge doesn't support it and when I manually place the mod in the mods folder of Minecraft, it simply does not show up.

I dont know if anyone will see this or not, but im building this in 1.20.6 and my wither will NOT stay in the cage. I summon the wither, place the water in the slab, he blows up and IMMEDIATELY breaks out. What could i be doing wrong?

Hmm I haven't tested everything in 1.20.6 specifically but I wasn't aware of any changes that would mess up the wither. I would triple check the tutorial for that part in creative mode a few times. If it's still happening then I'd try to see what exactly isn't working right

Why not add a simple bamboo farm in order to power any smelters? That way you can sure more bonemeal for flowers or other stuff.

You could, but some quick calculations say that you would need over 200 bamboo plants continuously farmed and crafted into planks to keep up, which is a pretty big addition!

You can, there's just a really tiny chance of it being in the exact area you need to go into storage easily! So you'd have to have a complex item transport system or manually unload shulkers at the farm if you go that route. This version is designed to be a "build it almost exactly as is" farm for the video's sake. It's the only sure-fire way to get every dye at one location as of now

It should be linking if the portals are at the same y value as shown in the farm-- you have to get the y value of the bottom nether portal closer to the bottom overworld portal than the top overworld portal, which is why the top overworld portal is so high up

Before I say my piece please understand that redstone mechanics make no sense to me. I need tutorials for any builds needing redstone. In saying that, I tend to use a lot of flowers for decorating. Adding the ability to fill a chest or barrel for each flower type for the purpose of decoration would be a great addition to this farm. I have no idea how this could be added as an option because I suck at redstone.
